I wanted to upgrade my All-City Space Horse with carbon fork, bars, and seatpost. I chose Whisky.
BTD had all three and so after saving some $$$ I got them. The fork came packaged securely and had some very basic instructions with it. I recommend reading/viewing plenty of information before taking on the installation yourself. I have experience with bike builds and upgrades, but I still sought out the videos and manuals just to make sure. You do not want to do any guess work when cutting a carbon steerer tube. Get a 32 tpi hacksaw blade. Get a guide. Take your time. Measure once, twice, three times a lady if you have to, but don't cut until you are absolutely certain. For the guide, I did bodge it and use a stainless steel hose clamp from the plumbing section in a local hardware store. I lightly sanded and sealed the cut surface with fingernail polish. Then on with the headset . . .
The bike rides noticeably smoother with the carbon fork and bars. I'd say performance wise it handles more like I'm used to with my road bike. The stock steel fork was incredibly heavy compared to the Whisky fork and the forward rake really made the bike ride a little clunky. I am super pleased with the results. it looks awesome, rides awesome and I had no issues at all with installation at any point in the process.
