Much lower frequency of flats riding on Gatorskins that other similar tires. The minimal weight difference is clearly not an issue.

These tires are solid! They were a bit challenging to get on my bike, but thanks to an expert friend, we got the job done. They work beautifully and have provided me hundreds of happy miles and hundreds more to come.

Former Maxxis devotee. Maxxis makes great road training tires but these Gatorskins wear even longer than the Maxxis. The wear guides in the tires are a great plus to a great tire. 4 years of riding this brand at 2500-3000 miles a year with only one flat, caused by an industrial size and strength staple. With Maxxis I'd get 1-2 flats a season.

I value puncture resistance over performance and the Gatorskin does a solid job in both categories. Not too heavy, yet does a good job of avoiding punctures. Not bullet proof, but it takes a significant object on the road to cause a flat.

I have been using these tires for a few years now for training and century rides. I have very few flats now. In fact, I wore out the rear tire without getting a flat and I do quite a bit of riding where radial tire wires and goat heads can be a problem. I always keep one or two of these tires on hand to replace those that I have worn out. Last at least 2000 to 2500 miles for me,

These tires are commuter workhorses. I get less flats with them, you can install them with maybe one tire lever - no pliers or injured hands! They last and last. Great value in the long run.

Durable. Easy to install and remove. I'm a recreational road rider with about 4,000 miles a year. Install new tires every year.

You know what youre getting with the Gatorskin. Flats are a thing of the past and they wear like iron but they are not plush and they are not light. Even the 700x32mm ones Ive been riding 65 psi are a bit jarring at times. I knew that when I bought them. And will buy them again when this set wears out.

Durable and easy to mount. What else is there. Would be nice to lose the Halloween colors.

I love these tires! They are on 3 sets of wheels for riding when it's raining, slick or grimy roads or even hard pack gravel. Durable and you can't really tell you are on a slightly thicker tire. The few flats I've had were large objects like over size staples or nails.

I have used these on my Roubaix for a couple of years, and will stick with them. Good handling and excellent wear. The wear indicators are a nice feature. They are a bit tough to mount the first time.

Get the job done nothing fancy, no flats yet

Was getting frequent punctures on Ultrasports due to small stones and glass. After two weeks, none on Gatorskins, and they feel good, although not a flexible in the wall as my favourite summer tyre - Velosports, which have a much better feel.

I use Gatorskins to get more miles and less flats.
I get about double the miles i would get from the 4000s or the 5000 s.

These tires wear well and are needed in SW FL where the road shoulder is home to glass and truck tread wire filaments. Very durable and decent handling - Gatorskins are a good match in gator country.

This is a great tire for winter training. Sure, they are heavier but the make up for that by lasting a long time and being much more puncture resistant that my GP4000s. Besides, during the winter, I don't need or want to go fast.
They are easy to install and I've never had a problem changing a flat
In terms of value, at full retail, they are just average. But when this tire goes on sale, the savings are quite substantial and the value rating is 5 stars. This tire often goes on sale but not in November.

Best tires for winter training. I have them on 4 sets of wheels. A tough tire and the ride isn't compromised. I ride through the typical glass, small rock and metal debris all winter long with no issue. The weight is a tad up but hey, it's winter training and it's a very nice trade off for not having to swap out a flat tube in the 38 degree rainy weather.

Been running these tires on my bikes for over 10 years averaging over 6,000 miles per year. Not very sticky on the curves, but very manageable. Payback on terms of reduced number of flats and longer miles than most. Side walls are weak, do need to pump up to over 100 psi to avoid pinch flats. Makes for a harsher ride, but gets you home in one piece.
