The Trail Boss TCS 29 Inch MTB Tire features a concentration of stocky tread that facilitates smooth rolling while side knobs easily bite into the terrain for off-camber traction. Commonly used as a rear tire.

I have the Trail Boss on the back paired with a Vigilante on the front on my Trek Top Fuel. My typical riding is rooty and rocky with a lot of up and down and very few berms or machined features. The Trail Boss on the rear really digs in on the climbs and provides great traction on tight turns. For most of what I do, that works well, but if you ride fast on smoother trails, they might not be for you. Also, they were very hard to mount on my i9 wheels - much harder than any mountain bike tires I've ever installed. Overall, good grip at a very competitive price.
