Description
While XTR has always been the group for light race performance at the cost of durability, XT has always been the high-end group that will durably do just about everything XTR will do but a little heavier and cheaper. The Deore XT CS-M770 cassette is no exception with long-lasting chrome plated steel cogs precision designed with Hyperglide shift ramps for crisp, fast shifting. Another smart advancement is overshift pins on the back of the largest cog preventing the chain from becoming fully embedded in the spoke/hub/cassette juncture and causing serious wheel damage. On the 11-32 tooth version, a four arm alloy carrier holds the last 5 cogs together to save weight and increase stiffness. On the 11-34 tooth version, a five arm carrier holds the last 6 cogs together. Ideally used with a Shimano super narrow HG 9-speed chain.

Reviews
Mt XT cassette has performed perfectly all winter through muddy training rides on my mountain bike. It's performing so well I've continued with it into the racing season. Perfect shift every time.
Totally different design than the pinned 9sp cassette that came on my wifes Giant. The stock unit was junk and came apart on the trail, it was a low end Shimano cassette. the CS-M770 uses a one piece body that interfaces with the freehub in one big piece and meets the standards I expect for upper line Shimano gear. A good purchase and a great upgrade.
