Nothing Sounds Better Than A Fresh Cassette
The Shimano CS-HG50-9 9-Speed Cassette is an excellent replacement part for SRAM/Shimano 2x9 or 3x9 road drivetrains, especially the Shimano Sora groupset. The distinctively designed HYPERGLIDE sprockets on this cassette incorporate specially positioned shift ramps and tooth profiles for improved chain control during shifting. Fast and responsive indexed shifting is the result.
For optimal shifting, we suggest that you use a Shimano HYPERGLIDE 9-speed chain with this cassette and replace both the chain and the cassette at the same time. Since the two components wear together, they work best when they are replaced together. SRAM 9-speed chains will also work with this cassette, but there may be slightly more noise during the initial stages of wear.

The Cassette shifts fine but is much louder that the Ultegra cassette that I took off one of my other bikes to confirm the noise is related to the new cassette. And yes I changed the chain with the cassette. Hard to find 9 spd stuff (wanted a 12/27 but settled for the 12/25) and since its on my trainer bike I can live with it. Works ok.
