Description

All-Round Performance, All-Round Comfort

Pirelli expands the P ZERO family with the introduction of the most comprehensive, all-round, tubeless tire, featuring their EVO compound and new TechLINER carcass: a 120 tpi casing coupled with a rubber liner for better pressure retention. These features make the new P ZERO™ Road TLR the perfect compromise between speed, comfort and protection all-in-one product, to accompany you in all your rides. The Pirelli P ZERO Road TLR is the perfect solution for the cyclist who is looking for a more balanced and all-round performance, focused on endurance.

Compound & Casing

The road-specific EVO Compound is a chemical formulation developed for the maximum versatility: good rolling resistance, optimal wet grip and good durability. The EVO Compound was born from the combination of opposite characteristics making it a good compromise for those looking for a versatile racing tire.

The TechLINER is a tubeless road-specific 120 tpi casing that features a rubber liner giving it a better pressure retention. This feature allows you to go fast while still being comfortable on a reliable technology that is meant for all-round performance in endurance applications.

Features:

  • EVO compound
  • TechLINER construction
  • Tubeless Ready
  • 700 x 28/30/32/35
  • 340/370/400/430 grams

Long lasting but hard to mount

These wear better than the race version, which is as expected of course. And since they are more substantially built they are not quite as supple as the race - but again as expected.

What was not expected was how difficult these were to mount compared to race versions in 30 and 28.

Those other tires slipped on easily to a set of Zipp 303s. These tires were (almost) impossible to get on.

Nice tires, have a compressor for tubeless setup

I bought these for a spare set of wheels on a gravel bike for training rides on mostly pavement and they do the job well. I haven't put a ton of miles on them, but they feel good and have had no punctures.

They were not hard to get on the rims, but I could not get them to seal with only a floor pump. That's not unusual, but the reason I deducted one star.

Nice, supple road tire but perhaps a bit fragile?

Nice tires but they don't seem to be overly robust. Within a couple of hundred miles I already have chunks in the sidewalls of the tire (cords showing). I've had to repair these with dabs of black RTV sealant. I presume these are from hitting angled pavement joints.

It would also be nice if Pirelli molded in treadwear indicators so one could tell when they are getting too worn to continue using.

BikeTiresDirect.com Comments
FYI Ken these tires DO have molded-in tread wear indicators, they are just a couple of small round divots about 1mm wide on each tire in a few spots, take a look!
