Description

Though the Race King MTB Tire is designed for speed above all else, Continental still manages to deliver reliable grip over a wide range of conditions. This ProTection model also features the proven Black Chili rubber compound, plus an extremely durable, yet race-ready construction. Featuring a variable 4x/3x240 TPI casing, the Race King provides lightweight, supple protection from punctures and slashes

The tread structure is built on the amazing Black Chili rubber, with low-profile knobs for an effortless roll on hardpack. The slightly wider spacing offers just enough room to effectively shed mud and hook up in looser conditions.

  • Advanced Black Chili rubber compound with dense particles for speed, grip and durability
  • Tough ProTection casing with 4 fabric plies of 240 TPI.
  • Extra fabric ply ensures puncture resistance and sidewall reinforcement over the Race Sport model
  • Folding bead
  • Tubeless ready.
  • 26 x 2.2 Inch (55-622 ISO)
  • 545 grams
  • Recommended pressure: 44-58 PSI.

Excellent cross-country tire.

Good grip, not too heavy, tubeless and tough. I don't often give five stars, but I see no downside to this tire. Holds 22 pounds tubeless no problem.

Solid tire

Went from Small Block Eights to these. Mostly ride on packed cinder and gravel trails, nothing too rough. Tires have noticeably lower rolling resistance and great grip. They seem just a hair noisier on paved road, but not to the point where it's bothersome at all. Roughly 500 miles on mine so far and I have zero complaints.

Nice tire. But a bit fragile

Yes. This is a race oriented tire. But with less than 100 miles on it I somehow punctured on a rock. Held air with sealant for a bit but I finally had to replace it. Disappointing because the traction and handling is great.

Light & fat which is exactly what I wanted.

Wanted a beach sand tire on an old ATB. As wide as possible and light weight too.

Fast on the smooth stuff

Turned an older hardtail into a gravel roadbike path speedster. These tires are perfect for dirt roads, bumpy pavement and very smooth, hardpack trails. Very low rolling resistance and wind noise. 2.2 measures 2.15 after stretching. Still look brand new at 200 miles... hairs and all.
