I've tried 6 saddles since January and think I finally found the one for me! I went with the S/M with a sitbone width of 11.8 and think that was the right move. I experienced no discomfort on two 80 mile rides when I usually started fidgeting on the saddle after the 30 mile mark hunting for comfort.
The foam core soaks up a lot of chatter on top of contributing to comfort over long distances. My only hesitation with it is how long it will survive with weather and wear.
Overall, this is a well made saddle with a pretty substantial padding layer. I came across this saddle based on my criteria of a 135ish width without a hole to use on a gravel bike. The padding comfort is top notch and the width was perfect for me, but unfortunately the edges are pretty square and on long rides I noticed pain on my inner thighs. I have found this saddle to be perfect for a cx race with the thicker padding and shorter ride time, though.
I have an adventure bike that has a lot to like but a rather stiff ride. I had read that this saddle can soften the overall ride, so I gave it a try. And it does! Have to say Im amazed at how much road chatter it took out. And its not like riding a pillow, it feels like a bike saddle. The shape works for me as well. It replaced a Brooks B-17 that was just not working for me. It has really made a positive difference for this bike. Of course saddles are different for everyone but this is my experience.
I have been using other Ergon saddles but wanted a bit more vibration damping for running skinny tires on our tarred and graveled roads with gaps every 100 feet in the asphalt . Combining the wider width for my apparently wide set sit bones, and the excellent damping properties of the "magic beads", this is an awesome but still lightweight and firm saddle, which results in surprising comfort, but still high efficiency. Highly recommended! I have the lighter titanium rails so the weight is very competitive. And of course thanks to the Ergon design, no trace of numbness down there on long rides.
