ENVE Aero In-Route Stem

The Sleekest Aero Stem

Hands down the sleekest aero stem I know of, however at $350 MSRP probably one of the most expensive stems I know of. I wanted a ENVE cockpit but the narrowest bars they do on the SES AR bars is 38cm, so I went with the In-Route Aero Stem and Bars (35/40). USPS lost my bars and stem but BTD eventually made it right. Either way, the In-Route Aero stem, bar, and computer combination is so sleek and the bars and stem are only 82g heavier than the SES AR cockpit, but with the caveat you can pick whatever stem length, have more bar width options, and overall have more adjustability. If you don't want to use ENVE's bars you can use whatever bars that has integration through the middle of the stem or you can use EVVE's Bypass spacer which allows you to semi integrate the cables.

ENVE Aero Stem Computer Mount

Super well integrated

Made by K-Edge so you know the quality is great. It integrates super well with the In-Route Aero bar and stem. Wahoo or Garmin mounts. 44g. Only cons are it's not adjustable, granted I wanted the fixed position version since I find the adjustable mounts always tend to loosen and move over time plus they weigh more. Also, the mount only supports up to a Garmin Edge 1030 size wise, granted I used the smaller 540.

ENVE MELEE & FRAY Aero Seatpost

A must for the Fray or Melee

If you are looking at a Fray or Melee this is the required Aero D-Shaped proprietary post you need. The zero offset version only comes in 275mm or 400mm which is a tad limiting since I wish the 350mm was also offered in a zero offset. I had to buy a 400mm and had to have it cut to fit my frame since it was too long but a 275mm would have been too short. This seat post has been known to slip, but inclusion of gripper on the back of the post and using high quality carbon paste at the right torques seems to have the post rock solid. The post comes with the 7x7 and 7x9 carbon rail adapters. The post cut for me weighed 190g. My big knocks on the post is that while aero, it's not nearly as narrow as something like you find on a Tarmac or SuperSix EVO and two, adjusting the tilt and position of the saddle is pretty finicky.

ENVE Fray (Legacy Colors) Frameset

Bumps along the way but a great bike

Bikes Tires Direct hand's down has the lowest price you will find for a ENVE Fray frame (Legacy Colors). I am 5'5" and a 47cm fits me spot on with a few adjustments. The frame does not include the mandatory proprietary aero seat post, so that's a separate purchase. The Ash grey is a sleek modern glossy paintjob like you would find on a high-end sports car, some would say it's very putty looking though. The Fray has aero optimization borrowed from the Melee, a decently low weight at 900g for the frame, and things like fender mounts, top tube mounts, in frame storage, a third water bottle mount, and up to 40mm worth of tire clearance, which creates a combination of utility and speed not found really on any other bike. My stem and handlebars were lost via USPS, but BTD eventually made it right. In the end the bike is everything I wanted in the ability to run a 1x 13 speed Force E1 XPLR setup with a 48t chainring and run GP5000 S TR 35mm that balloon to 37mm on a 25mm internal wheel to ride mainly on the road. The bike 100% can keep up on fast group rides and also has the ability to tackle transitional routes with the 35mm tires. I plan to setup a 2nd wheelset with Terra Competition Rapid Races 40mm for light gravel and winter riding. A truly versatile machine that is only limited by your imagination, ability, and maybe wallet since even with discounts the ENVE Fray and the ENVE ecosystem as a whole is not cheap.
