I purchased this tire in a 700X33 for use on an All-Road bike, which I typically ride on paved road, but with some very cracked and bad sections. On a wide carbon rim (22 internal), the tire measures true to size at 33. The ENVE SES provides a smooth and definitely fast ride, although I upped the pressure slightly from the SILCA calculator. The tire does pick up road grit, as is mentioned in many online reviews, but that doesn't appear to affect performance. I picked 33, because my wheel has an outer width of 30mm, and I felt it would work better with a wider tire, but in hindsight, I could have gone with a 32, or even a 30. While those sizes wouldn't have provided noticeable increases in speed, they might have provided slightly quicker handling. Overall, this is an excellent tire, and probably even better at relatively narrower widths.
This is a great handlebar for a gravel or road bike. The drop shape is very natural and ergonomic, and the flat tops are supremely comfortable. My hands would start to hurt during a long ride with a round handlebar, and that just doesn't happen here. I also think the bars do a better job absorbing vibration than metal handlebars. My only quibble with these bars is there's really no way to put a bell on them, but given every other benefit they bring, I guess that's okay.
Kind of tough to mount, not as bad as Challenge tires though.
I did get a puncture on the rear on my 2nd ride that plugged and sealed immediately without issue. After that I was a little paranoid but I continued to ride the tire without issue for about 1500 mi. Even went on some light gravel and some terrible roads without any problems.
After almost 1000mi on them I am actually quite impressed with how they are holding up considering how light/supple they are.
These are definitely a race-day tire. not an every-day fast tire to run imo. Satisfied for what they are and will save them for those special times as needed.
Great tires, 2nd pair, 1270 miles on the latest set.
I'm adding this review so that people aren't misled by the negative reviews here.
I bought the SES 29's to run on my Enve rims, Enve Melee bike.
I rode a lot of miles this summer. No flats, no problems, not a single issue. Orange Sealant had dried up and added 2 1/2 oz per tire holds air better.
They are fast and comfortable and very durable, great tires.
I had a hard time seating them to the rims, took it the bike shop and high volume did it.
I'll be buying another set this year. Recently had a tire wire puncture, but no flat. Sealant worked.
I'm buying another set to mount this winter and also replace the punctured one on the rear because of blemish or bulge.
