Great all-around tire

I got these tires for my road bike since alot of the paths I ride on have many sandy patches. These tires allowed me to go through the loose sections with confidence and without sacrificing much performance on the paved sections. Great tire for training purposes.

Thank you for your feedback.

Fine Road Tandem Tire

700X32, 95PSI. Have logged 100's of miles on our tandem. We are a heavy team with a rides bike weight near 450lbs. Some rough & beat up pavement. Glass & thorns. Good grip, excellent wear, and no flats! Highly recommend.

Thank you for your feedback.

Best bang for your dollar, long lasting and virtually no flats

Outstanding road tire. I have a hybrid bike and I am using the 35mm tire. Even though the recommended pressure is 80 psi I am running 85 psi. I ride city streets where one does have numerous hazards for flats. With about 3,000 miles on the rear tire I have not had a flat, certainly a record for any tire I have used. I weight 215, so this tire has been thoroughly tested.

To summarize this tire is a bargain for the price it is sold at and if you want virtually no flats this tire is a must. I do use a thorn resistant tube for added insurance, I do hate flats.

Thank you for your feedback.

Bulletproof

I put 5000 km on these, on a fully loaded touring bike, without a single flat. My wife rode the same tires in 35mm width and also had not a single flat. They roll well enough - speed is not a huge concern in that situation. Reflective sidewalls are always a bonus.

Better than slicks for use in rain and uneven roads

Though I prefer the Fyxation Session, these are pretty good. They're slightly grippier than regular road tires, which comes in handy for the commuter who has to ride through rain and crappy city streets. You'll sacrifice a bit of speed, but it's worth it, in my opinion. Plus, they look cool as hell and if you like to customize your commuter bike like me, you don't want boring old black tires.

Thank you for your feedback.

Very difficult to mount.

Extremely difficult to mount on the rim causing multiple pinch flats even by experienced bike shop techs.

An awesome tire great for fixed gears!!!

I have been sporting the Vittoria Randonneur tire on my fixed gear for the last couple years, and I think its the best all around tire if your riding fixed. It is durable and takes the abuse of constant skidding. I also take my fixed gear on moderate single tracks and the tire has enough tread to handle sand and dirt terrain. I like all aspects of this tire and wouldnt change a thing on it!

Thank you for your feedback.

Provide comfortable ride and have held up well.

I have mounted and used the Vittoria Randonneur tire in 700x28 and 700x32 with reflective sidewalls on Velocity A23 rims. I have used both tires at the maximum recommended pressure. The 700x32 provides an exceptionally comfortable ride for my daily commute on less than perfect streets. I changed to the 700x28 on the same bike to reduce rolling resistance and weight for longer rides (centuriesbrevets). The ride, as expected, is not as comfortable as the 700-32s, but the handling is crisper. The difference in ride comfort is minimal. Both sizes have performed well in wet and dry conditions. I felt confident when riding in the rain and through standing water. Both tires are more difficult to mount than most I have used. Enough that I sometimes dread having to change a flat on those cold morning trips. To date that has not been necessary. The mounting difficulty is a minor issues given the otherwise good quality and value. I have put only a few hundred miles on these so I cannot assess their durability.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great tires for commuting

I bought six of the 28 cm tires in white almost three years ago now and have only finally worn out the first pair. After rotating them every six months they lasted two years of commuting about 5000 miles. I never got a flat but they had worn so much that they weren't rounded anymore. As other people have commented, the tire pressure is on the low side. But routinely kept mine at 85 psi (the maximum recommended and they worked fine for me with my commuter pannier, on a tricross I use for commuting. When I finally wear out all six I'd buy more!

For the price I'm not sure you can find a better tire.

I'm a daily commuter in Portland, OR. I put about 4,000 mi on my bike a year and go through about 2 pairs of these a year.

I'd be surprised if there is a better tire than the Vittoria Randonneur.

My current bike was originally equipped with Vittoria Randonneur 700c x 28mm tires. After 2 years and at least 2,500 miles with absolutely no flats or failure of any kind, I decided I could do no better than to buy more of the same. In fact, if I had not used the bike in a stationary mount indoors last winter (tread gone and fabric showing on rear tire), I could have ridden the original set another season.

I'm a mature adult, who rides for fun and exercise (not a racer) 60 to 120 miles per week, mostly on pavement. If I rode more in loose gravel or dirt (or hit a lot of potholes), I might choose one of the wider versions, but experiencing this kind of durability and reliability, I'm happy with the low rolling resistance of the narrower 28mm.

By the way, Biketiresdirect offered the best price I found, and delivered promptly without any glitch.

Thank you for your feedback.

Really good tire, and good value for the $$$$.

Just completed a 400 mi. tour after having put two of these on my bike. The tires were great. No flats. I like the feel of them on the road. I like the tread design......not much opportunity to pick up the small, sharp stones that can puncture. A really good value.......I think far better than the heavier, more expensive Marathon tires. For my wheels, I did need to use my lever tools to get the tires on my rims. No big deal.

Thank you for your feedback.

Excellent all around tire.

These tires, 700x28, came with my new Civia bike in Aug. 2009. I got 6 flats over 7439 miles before I decided to replace them Nov. 2010. The new ones, 700x32, were very tight on the rims and I had to really work to get them on. I only had one flat over 6694 miles when I decided to replace them. There was plenty of tread left but I could see some scars and nicks. These replacements, also 700x32, seemed easier to put on. These tires seem to last a long time. My bike with generator hub, Rohloff hub, head and tail lights, 2 water bottles and bike trunk weight 40 lbs and I weigh 175lb. My other tires only got about 2500-3000 miles before the tread wore out. I suggest to get the ones with the reflective sidewalls as they are more noticeable. My Civia now has over 25000 miles as of Sept. 2012.

Last a long, long time!

These tires came as original equipment on my Co-Motion Nor'wester Tour bike in 2008. I've used the bike on numerous randonneuring rides of 200,300,400, & 600K and a week long bike tour before the rear tire wore out. This summer I rode the Northern Tier Route fully loaded from Maine to Washington another 4007 miles before the front tire finally wore out. I had one flat total with that tire - amazing!

They call me no flats Paul

I do a lot of city riding and I used to get a flat every two to three rides with thinner road tires.

I've got over 1,000 miles on these tires and I haven't had a single flat. I ride through patches of grass with thorns, broken glass on the road and jump curbs.

Fixations are also great, but are unable to prevent pinch flats since they are foldable and don't have a tight bead.

These tires are a bit heavy... and they are a heavy duty and semi-difficult to mount.

Thank you for your feedback.

A first rate tire.

Use the 700x28 with reflective sidewall for my daily 15 mile commute. No flats ever. Excellent grip that does not diminish as the tire ages and will not slip when the road gets wet or if it is pouring. They will go several thousand miloes easily and you can push it for a lot more if you like.

No mounting issues and the width seems realistic to the stated size. The Schwalbe Marathon's are also excellent tires, they tend to run wider and I took several flats early on, though the last two years have been trouble free.

Thank you for your feedback.

Nice upgradedowngrade option for me

I use my old steel Fuji Ace during family rides to haul my son in his trailer. We recently biked some bike friendly roads that were a bit challenging for my aging 23c tires. It was clearly time to replace them. Now is a good time to go wider. So I tried he Vitoria Randonneur. I selected white because it would absolutely pop against the jet black frame.

They were a bit more of a challenge to mount. I acustomed to using one tyre lever in narrower profile tires. I had to use all three levers, but they mounted easily enough. I had to do it twice because I noticed the arrow on the sidewall idicating the front of the bike, but by then, I had loosened the bead sufficiently. The second mounting was easier.

I was concerned about noise of loss of power, but there was no problem. I rode them on the freshly-striped roads before re-tarring could take place and they rode smoothly and quietly, even in pot holes with loose debris.

Overall a very nice tire. I really like them. They are highly recommended.

Great tire for my use and impressively durable even in New Orleans.

My first set of these tires has lasted nearly three years now with regular commuting use in New Orleans. The roads are harsh but the more impressive thing is how well they are holding up to the dry rot that happens down here. My girlfriends bike tires were purchased the same week as I purchased these and were replaced over a year ago due to dry rot. My first pair still rolls fine, though they are due to be replaced.

28 C White.

Great reliable commuter tire

These tires came with my Raleigh bike.I have been commuting 15 miles a day to work for over a year, through ice, snow , everything. At first I brought a tube along, but have long since left it in the garage. These tires are very reliable.

I did not rotate them out so the back is starting to show some wear.I ordered a new set and I am Amazed at the low cost.

Bomb-proof commuter tires

Great tires for commuting. I like the reflective stripe a lot and the tires inspire confidence that you can roll through anything and not get a flat. I have been commuting on these tires for several months now and have not had a flat. That confidence comes at a price - weight. They are a bit harsh. That is to be expected in a 60 tpi tire, but they roll well and have good grip. Overall, these are very good commuter tires.
