These tires are grippy, durable, and extremely puncture resistant. However, they're also very heavy, difficult to mount on the rim (see other reviews), have mediocre rolling resistance, and are EXTREMELY uncomfortable over bumps and rough surfaces. If Vittoria is attempting to market these tires to Urban riders, why would they make the casing with 30 tpi fabric? I understand that they're trying to cut costs, but it makes for a stiff sidewall and an unforgiving ride at any PSI.
See also difficulty in mounting the tire due to a ridiculously hard sidewall. For those of you who have mounting issues, I recommend inserting the tire lever upside-down between the tire and the rim when you're trying to get that last, stubborn piece of tire inside the rim. Use the mechanical advantage of the tire lever to preserve the tube and your fingers.
I would recommend either upgrading to the Marathons or trying the Continentals which reside in the same price range. I switched to the Marathon Supremes and I noticed the difference immediately. The tires were stupidly easy to mount, sans tire lever, and the ride was smoother than Antonio Banderas. They're also lighter, faster, and supposedly more puncture resistant.
Overall, the tires aren't terrible. But they're also not great.

These tires came stock on my 2010 Jamis Aurora Elite touring bike. I just finished 1200 touring miles with four fully loaded panniers AFTER first putting 2000 commuting miles on them. How many flat tires have I had in 3200 miles? ZERO. ZILCH. NONE. NADA. Five days of the tour were on road shoulders along the Oregon Coast covered in road debris gravel, wires, screws, exploded auto and truck tires, you name it. I'm totally sold on these tires. I'll use the same tires for about 400 more miles when I continue the cross country tour a month from now, then I'll mount identical new eVittoria Randonneurs. Details of my tires - wire beaded reflective version, 700x32. Rider weight - 140 lbs. Loaded bike weight when touring - 75 lbs. Total, 215 lbs. The price is right, they have good traction, they roll, and they don't flat. Buy these tires.

These are arguably the best tires I've ever ridden. I've got the 700 x 35 on my cyclocross. Yes, they might be a little on the heavy side, but they roll nice and take a helluva beating. I ride road, dirt trail and stone trail and with about 1200 miles on these, I still have plenty of tread and not a single flat.

Although the tire is of the expected quality that I know a Vittoria tire to be, it comes up on this site under the foldable search. I purchased two thinking they were foldable tires because they came up when I chose foldable under the tire finder on this web site. I was disappointed when they arrived and had a steel band around the edge.
Great tires, poor search engine result.

I use Gatorskin 25c tires on my Specialized Tri-Cross in the summer but they are just too squirrely in the wet, leaf-covered streets and trails I commute on during the winter. Bought the Randonneur 700x32c reflective tires after reading the recommendations here and I'm not a bit disappointed. I've put about 500 miles on them so far this season (daily rider) and I feel like I have good grip in wet conditions. I've been running mine at 85psi and they roll smooth and give a comfortable ride. I didn't notice any real difficulty mounting them...I did have to use a couple of tire levers but have to use levers with the Gatorskins too so this wasn't an issue for me.

Great riding tire at a awesome price.

We live at 8,300 feet west of Denver. The roads are paved but often have gravel and debris. These tires are wonderful to ensure you maintain stability even when hitting small rocks and a few objects on the road. The tires also provide a softer ride for my wife's aluminum road bike.

Relieved the rondo's 2 weeks ago. I log roughly 60 miles a week, so about 120-150 miles so far. I ride very rough, gravel laden road with allot of holes and bumps. No flats. No loss of pressure. I am very happy with these tires. I weigh 220 and really punish tires, but the Rondenneur's are doing great!

Bought this for my son's single-speed (freewheel) track bike. These seem to be the best tires due to their thick tread and long wear. I paid a little more for the reflective stripe.

I purchased (2) 700 x 32 here in 92014. 2.5 years later, and approx 2000 miles later, both tires are still going strong.
Both tires are made in Thailand.
They have provided excellent service, grip very well, and the rear not rotated could probably go to 3000, but I am currently shopping to replace it sooner.
I ride in Los Angeles on road mainly and roads here are in very bad condition. They are also littered with glass, nails and other debris. The tires have all kinds of chips and cuts in them.
In my first 500 miles on the rear weight bearing wheel, I got 2 flats. My bike and I weight approx 190 lbs. These tire are no match for road debris. Little things will pierce these tires. After the 2nd flat, I put a STOP FLAT tire liner in. And I went for the next 1000 miles with no flat. After 1500 miles I got another flat when something else pierced the tire and just got around the liner. You will get flats on the rear of this tire if you do not use a liner. The front has gone 2000 with no liner and no flats.
The reflective strip is great, lights up the wheels, but started to peal off a bit after approx 1500 miles.
These tires are not good at all for dirt, sand or anything off road. They are on paved road only tires.
I ride at beach a lot and they will slip, slide and lose traction in any sand immediately.
I do not ride in rain or wet so no comment on that.
I recommend these tires, but you must use a liner to avoid flats.

Put a few hundred miles on the pair already.
They are fast, grip well, and best of all The reflective srip looks cool, makes me highly visible. Everyone compliments my tires.

I'm on my second set of these tires and they perform great for a 4xs a week rider. I have never had a flat in two years.

Rides good, looks like thick and even, solid contrsutions. Made in Thailand, I have the white colour, it will fade to beige and looks nice/classic looking. Rides good.

A decent price point for a really good tire. Pretty stiff when mounting, but what new tire isn't?

Tire seems narrow in 35 mm size. Ride is very good and corners very well. Tire inspires confidence.

the tires have been great. I have about 500 miles on them and love them. Well i did get nailed within the first 30 miles with the tires with a 2 in' nail. i placed a patch on the tire and they are working well. No tire would have prevented that.

I've ridden Rubino and Rubino Pros for years on my commuter road bike and like the way those tires felt and wore - rarely had flats and did lots of miles with them. I bought these tires hoping to use them on some gravel road rides this summer and the price was good so I picked them up. I made the mistake of replacing my Vittoria Pave' tires with these, which was probably not wise.
I found the Randonneur tires so slow, sluggish, and poor handling in comparison that I took them off after one day of riding them. They really felt like I was riding in quick sand, and the ride was very rough despite being 32mm tires. I tried them at 55 and 75 PSI and they really just felt terrible to me.
Maybe I can find a use for them for winter commuting but I don't think these tires are worth the few dollars saved compared to other beefier tires. I've been happy with Roly Poly 28's lately. Much better ride - and far, far smoother. Trying the Challenge Eroica's next as well.

I've never owned a car and spent 10 yrs as a messenger, this heavily colors my opionion that these are the best tires ever as they extremely rarely have flats. Takes something very unlucky like a sharp screw at just the wrong angle to puncture them. The colored layers are awesome as it's obvious when you need to order more or swap it off for a long ride in the country.
black - new, red layer - getting warmed up - back to black layer - order replacements as you may be down around 1000 miles left
getting them onoff rims was frustrating at first as I recall, it was a long time ago and it seems simple now. steel core levers help while you get used to working with a stiff bead, these tires are worth the small investment in decent levers instead of plastic crud, you'll save the two bucks extra by not having flats.
