Good while they last...

When I first put these tires on, I loved them. They just felt fast and cornered great. The problem is that they are 320 TPI tires and they are racing tires. And that means that they are less durable than a lot of other tires. I've gotten a couple of large gashes when using them that start to let the tube pop through and then you're in flatsville.

I don't run tubulars because I don't want to have to worry about changing out wheels or tires before a race. So I need a tire that I can run every day too. And thus, I think I'm done with these for now.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great riding and looking tire with a low profile design

Up until now I have been dedicated to using Continental 4000 S for both road bikes. My Cervelo S5 did not have the clearance for the 4000 S but the Vittoria's did. These tires have the clearance I needed and also the performance and reliability too. This year I have put these on both the Cervelo S5 and the Cervelo R3. I also like the colors that are available to match the bike. This is a great tire.

Thank you for your feedback.

Pleasant ride. Fast.

I replaced some Vittoria CG IIIs (5-6K) and like the ride of these CXs. They do, like many new tires, pick up a lot of road debris (I thought they were coated with stickum for the first 5 mi!) when new. I have not seen this kind of phenomenon with tires other than new Vittorias. Thus, I'd suggest, on the first ride or two, stopping several times or ride around the block a few times making sure that you're not inadvertently driving a sharp rock or small glass bit into the tire. I personally would think that most folks issues with numerous flats & new Vittorias are partially caused by this phenomenon.

SO far, I have 1.5K on this set, they seem to ride well in wet weather and have had no flats. I've tested with some different pressures (80-140psi) and lower feel a bit too squishy to me but 110-125 seem about right. I'm 5-8 & 145lbs so anything over 125psi makes every road bump feel too harsh. Roads here in CO where I ride are reasonably nice with some periodic road debris. I haven't seen any major cuts, so the tires appear to be reasonably robust after 1500 miles. I haven't taken them on packed dirt/gravel roads but suspect that they'd be fine.

Thank you for your feedback.

flat after flat after flat

Threw these on my road bike earlier this spring. My first ride coincidentally was a planned group ride of many of the hills in my area. On the ride to meet up with the group I got my first flat on the rear tire. Small puncture that was quickly patched. On our way to the first hill my front tire blew out explosively. Tire was fine but the tube shredded. Needless to say I didn't have a lot of confidence on the subsequent descents after replacing the tube. Since then I typically get a flat every couple of weeks. The ride is nice but durability is terrible, I'm going back to continental GP.

Excellent Lightweight Tire

The ride is comfortable and handling is reassuring. Colored sidewalls are a nice touch. I use it on my front wheel and pair it with either Vittoria's Open Corsa SR or Rubino Pro III in the rear. I don't race, so I use this tire when I want a light wheel for climbing or fast rides. It mounts fairly easily as well. Good quality from tire to tire.

Almost as good as tubulars!

Love these tires. Amazing confidence at 40 MPH on rough roads (25 mm). Haven't had them long enough to measure wear, but I would use caution on gravel roads as they tend to cut easily.

Thank you for your feedback.

Excellent road feel and grip

I use the 25mm width on my HED 25 wheelset on a Cannondale HiMod Synapse. I feel like the comfort is similar to the 28mm tires that came with my bike yet they feel a bit faster. The rear tire is wearing a bit faster than other performance clinchers I have used but the road feel and confidence in cornering is worth the trade off. No flats jet in about 700 miles and they were a pleasure to mount.

Thank you for your feedback.

Best overall road racing tire!

I have used all the top major tires, Conti 4000s&sII, Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp/Senso, Schwalbe Ultremo ZX Vectran/One, and of course this Vittoria Open Corsa EVO CX III. They are all great tires in different respects, the EVO CX III is my favorite due to its incredibly tough yet super supple casing quality. They do wear fast as they are meant to as a top racing tire as I only get about 600miles to a rear before tossing, it is a well deserved trade of for the best riding, fastest rolling, and shockingly the toughest casing except for Vredestein FTC's I have ever ridden! My Wife's favorite is Scwalbe's , but she is only 5 ft 107 lbs, whereas I am 6'4 at 252 lbs! I have to many sidewall failures with the Conti as well they ride the roughest, Vreds are fast and bullet proof and are about equal to Conti in ride quality, Schwalbe has an amazing tire, but at my weight correct inflation works better in the Vittoria CX III's as I run 128 r/85 f!

Great tire! Vittoria Open Corsa line up is the best

The Open Corsa Tires are the best tires I have yet to ride. I went through about 3 sets of the Evo CX and found that they lacked a bit of grip in the wet. I was in luck because Vittoria also makes an Open Corsa Service Course (SC) which is the best all around in this class. Awesome tire, yes they are only 320 TPI so they are not as durable as a gatorskin but if you want a supple ride, fast, and grippy race tire... this is you the best all around.

Thank you for your feedback.

Grip vs wear

I bought these to smooth out my ride and they did. But the trade off with a softer tire is it cuts easier. I ride from the city to the country. The city has lots of debris on the road. After just a few rides I'm already seeing small bits of missing rubber

Very close to the ride of silk tubulars

My wife and I use these on our bikes the ride quality is excellent, this makes up for the occasional flat and the fact that they wear out at about 1,000 miles. We do mostly casual rides between 25 to 70 miles. This tire produces the closest ride to the silk tubulars, (Clement Criterium Seta 250 grams), that I used to ride 40 years ago. These are an improvement over the stock tires that came on the Trek Domane 6.2 on both the stock wheels and the wheel sets I had built up with 25mm rims & CK-R45 hubs.

Excellent tire, but fragile

I use this tire for all around riding, not racing. It seems fast and is comparatively comfortable, especially riding it below the recommended pressure. I usually run around 95 for a 170 pound rider with no pinch flats. The tread and sidewall are, however, very prone to damage from road debris and the tread wears pretty quickly. I now expect 500-1000 miles out of a rear tire. That makes them pretty expensive. If you don't mind that, it's a great tire. Very easy to mount and remove on HED or Mavic rims.

Thank you for your feedback.

My Favorite tire

Im on my 3rd set of Open Corsa CXllls. I love the ride quality. Even with 120 psi or more they almost have a soft feel to them while still being a fast. Durability is probably not as good as some other tires I've had but the ride quality more than makes up for it.

A great smooth comfortable tire.

This is my second pair of Vittoria Open Corsa CX III Clincher Tires. I love the feel. Theyre the smoothest tires I've ridden so far. Even with 120 psi they're still comfortable. They probably don't last as long as some others but the comfort you get is worth the tradeoff.

My best as of the time of this review

Well, I didn't jump to to that conclusion without trying other tires.. I tried Continental Grand Prix S 4000 which has the best road feel but lack of durability . So I switched to these Tires on all my bikes. This one doesn't have the same sticky and grippy as Grand Prix S 4000, but they're simply the best. Why ? They are fast, excellent cornering and most importantly they can take all the abuses that you exposed them to. I can tell you that there are multiple cuts on my tires but they just keep rolling like there is nothing, not like some other tires claimed to be resistant to cut but when there is a single small cut, they just blew up. So, you just have to figure that out what you really want. For me, I can always count on these tires, speed, cornering or durability. But if you want the best road feel, go with the Grand Prix S 4000

Thank you for your feedback.

Favorite climbing tire.

These are the tires I use on my climbing wheels. Picked because they are super light, but also super supple. Pair them with latex tubes for great road feel, incredible responsiveness, and speed.

The smoothest ride on the market

You just cannot beat the smoothness of these tires. Add a latex inner tube and you would think that you took out 20 lbs/square inch in tire pressure. They are relatively puncture resistant - not the best, but better than average, and have an average life span. I keep mines on my bike for 2500 miles.

go for it

This is an excellent tire. I went from Schwalbe Ultremos - where durability was a huge issue - to these and was concerned that these would feel slower. They do not at all and in the several months I have had the Open Corsas they have stood up to some stuff that would have shredded the Ultremos. The tread compounds are well done. Don't even think about the Ultremos in the rain, but these feel grounded at all times.
