I've tried other tires along the way, but the Veloflex is hard to top. A Fast tire and a soft ride with the psi not too high.

Very fast and light weight, good training tire and great racing tire,100 psi, on a Fuji

Love the feel of Veloflex clinchers - miles better that the Contis I used to use.
Have had only a couple of punctures on these over the last three years, so generally just use and forget.
And love the gum side-walls! Retro cool, or makes them look like tubs.

Let me start by admitting that I am old enough to remember the ride quality of the Italian-made Vittoria CX tubulars of the yester-years. The ONLY tires that were even better were the ultra-expensive silk tubulars. While these Veloflex Master tires are not quite that good, they are VERY good. I install them with latex inner tubes (Vredestein) and the performance is just about as good as any currently available clincher tires one can get. I have tried Michelin, Challenge, and Continental tires and none of them have the fast feel of these. The Thai made Vittorias get close, but their casing is not as consistently even as the Veloflex tires. There are couple of caveats to these tires, however. First, they are initially very tight fitting, making the first-time installation a test in patience. Second, their exposed sidewalls are delicate.

It's been a few years since I've ridden Veloflex tires, I forgot how supple the ride is on these tires. I don't know, maybe it's just the fact that they have gum sidewalls and that makes me nostalgic and enjoy the ride more? There are so many things that effect the ride so I'm always dubious of how much the tires attribute to road feel, but having these in 25mm with 90psi gives me confidence in descending.

These tires roll so smoothly. I rode Veloflex Master Clinchers in 25s before, but the 28s are the best!

First ride, did a small U turn in an intersection I use everyday, not fast on the turn, and in perfect conditions. Tires slipped. Road rash and broken phone.

Frankly these Are the greatest road tires. They are pretty much the ride as tubulars if you use them with latex tubes (of which Vittoria are the best). Do they last as long as heavy commuting tires? No but I get 3000 miles off of the rear and 5000 off of the front. The very best open tubulars and nice colors too!

Difficulty getting them, finding them in the U.s.

Really classy looking tire - gives you that retro look with a modern tread pattern, perfect for your italian frame. I did notice the tread on the center of the rear tire seemed to wear out quickly and squared off a bit in the first 30-45 days, but then the tire has held up well since then.

So far, I have only used the Master on the front on a Zipp 202 for racing and every day training on both dry and wet roads. No wear or flat problems.
Great feel and cornering.

These are my everyday tires. I feel like i'm cheating as 180 grams give me an advantage when riding with my buddies.
I got 1800 miles on the rear and over 3600 on the front. I weigh 175, ride about 100 miles a week. Some smooth, some chip seal.

As a race tire the Veloflex is great. As a daily training tire, it is too fragile for harsh roads and New Mexico goatheads. Flats and rapid wear are part of the package with a tire this light and supple. Use them for races or special rides only.

These tires when combined with latex tubes are the closest thing to riding tubulars.
The ride is very responsive to rider input, especially when making quick changes in your line while riding. They roll very smoothly and appear to be well made. I don't know about durability yet or flat protection, but I may have found a new favorite tire.

google the history - in my opinion and experience (including racing on THE best - clement silk sewups back in the day), this is a superb all-around clincher, and one of only a very few manufacturers that still make a 20mm profile tire. run with latex tubes and a 20mm 'record' on the front...

I tried installing these(sticker on box said,700x23)and the package said only install on ETRTO 622x13c. Called and the Guy on the phone said they would fit. Not.
I wish they did because they seemed like a great tire for the price.
Sending then back after I talk with a rep on Monday.

Very fast, nice looking and smooth - best tire I have had and I think the blue looks good. I ride in Fort Collins, Colorado and usually flat every couple 100 miles due to goat heads, but none so far and well over 300 miles.

Was very impressed when I first got these tires. I noticed a significant difference in speed from my older tires and liked the way they rolled. However, after less than 100 miles I was surprised to notice decent wear on my rear tire, long story short my rear wheel didn't even make it 300 miles before I had 2 flats and needed to replace the tire. Maybe I just have bad luck but I was not impressed with these tires at all, I'm going back to Armadillos.

I bought a pair of these tires for my 1991 LeMond TSX machine, and the tires are getting along well with the bike and the rider.
Full disclosure I have only put about 250 miles on them, so we're in the early going.
Starting from the top, the tires are beautifully packaged and you know you've purchased something special, e.g. handmade, when they arrive. Mounting them to my Mavic CPX rims was easy and didn't require tools.
Initial ride report What separates these tires from others is the high thread count cotton casing, coupled with a firm yet grippy rubber compound. You get a near tubular type ride quality, with the ease of operation one gets from a clincher. The rolling resistance feels low, cornering is supple and confident, and the tires are consistent even on granite cobbles. The descending and sprinting on these sneakers is inspired, too.
The sole surprise I had from using these tires is that the blue compound shed into a very fine dust on my frame, which was a bit strange when I wiped the frame down. It appears to be a one time event, and the tread is in fine shape. The actual amount of rubber dust was very low. To be clear, this wasn't a big deal.
I have yet to ride these tires in the wet, but I am sure if and when it happens, I'll just lower the PSI from 120 to about 100 and carry on without incident.
What separates me from giving this tire 5 stars is that longevity, at this point, is unknown. It may well earn that after the first 1500 miles or so.

After 300 miles, I started using for races only due to durability concerns 1200 miles later they are little worn but still look great!I was using GP 4000's and pro 3's, these feel much faster, are much more comfortable, corner great, and seem to wear great. You will pull over because you think your back tire is flat - they are worlds different than other clinchers I've tried, and much cheaper.
