Not happy with these tires. Mounting for me was easy and tires road really nice when they held air. Within the first 50 miles of mounting them I had 2 flats from punctures. They are not made for NJ roads. There are better choices.

These tires are the closest thing to the feel of a tubular tire I've ever ridden. They smooth out chip seal, and corner like your on rails! I've put 1000 miles on them so far this summer and must say I really enjoy the feel and ride quality. However I did have my rear tire casing separate slightly after 700 miles, it still held air and performed well, but I chose to replace it with the same model and have been satisfied with overall performance.

Good news. These tires ride and grip better than any tire I have used. They are sweet to ride on. I have had very few flats.
Bad news. ( I have gone through 4 sets) The sidewalls have ripped or cut on each tire long before the tread has come close to wearing thin. I have just checked the tires on my bike. Both have cut sidewalls. Tread is about 75% remaining. The sidewalls are bulging will have to be replaced. In the past, some have blown out violently which is really fun when descending.
If you buy them you will love the ride. Monitor the sidewalls please before each ride.

These Veloflex tires grip corners like no tire I have ridden in the past. Quality ad price!

I appreciate the surefootedness of this tire, and the cornering confidence it brings. Very supple, and the excellent road feel of the tire makes any bike ride better.

I found these tires very hard to mount on my new wheels. So far I have zero miles on them so we'll have to wait and see.

I recently purchased a new ride and after 20 years of riding only tubular tires, I broke down and bought clincher wheels. Then the search began for a good set of tires. I tried several different brands (Vitorria, Continental, Michelin) and a friend recommended Veloflex. I have been very pleased with the performance, feel and ride quality of these tires. Very well made, easy to install. One warning, these tires are not heavy duty training tires. They are relatively thin and supple (thus, the quality ride). I have had a flat or two and my rear tire is wearing quickly, but I also ride 800 mi/month. The ride quality far outweighs the long term wear issue. Closest thing that I have found to a tubular tire. Highly recommended.

These are some of the best riding clinchers out there, and for the price they're an absolute steal. Pair them up with some latex tubes at the right pressure and the ride and handling are fantastic. I've stopped using anything else.

Best road tire I have ever used.cornering is unbelievable, rides great.I was little worried they might not be tough enough for new England roads.but l have 1000miles on them and no cuts or flats.the rear tire does show some wear. So I will change a 1500 miles. I have used conti 4000s for about 4 years. I bought these to save a little money. These are a much better tire, even if they were the same price.

Light, ride real nice, and less expensive than most high end tires. I have noticed the rubber cuts a bit easier, however I haven't had anything get through the casing yet. Overall, this is my new road tire of choice.

when i find a tire this good I stick with'em. been riding Maxxis for 15 years.
Price is what you pay, confidence is what you get.

The tire rolled and cornered very well. So far I have not get a flat yet. I did not give it a 5-star rating because it was hard to install.

The Corsa is the finest open tubular type racing clincher tire I have used. The 320. TPI construction makes it very supple, a great cornering tire.
I consider it to be only moderately puncture resistant, so choose not to train on this tire, since I live in the northwest and training in wet weather most of the time.

I've been riding Veloflex tires for over 5 years now, and can't hardly ride anything else now. I've tried all the standard ones - Conti GPs, various Michelin's, etc. What keeps me coming back to the Veloflex is the combination of smoothnessstability and generally sweet feeling of the ride. The only other tires I ride that have this kind of feel are the Vittoria Pave EVO, but the latter is built for pave, and are a wider tire that has a hard time clearing brakes even with open calipers, so I limit my use of them to fallearly-spring, or to the times I've ridden the Ronde Sportive.
It helps to realize both the Veloflex & Pave's are 320tpi tires, which technically makes them an open tubular vs. a clincher.
So they ride great. The principle price to pay for this sweetness is durability. They tend to cut somewhat more easily than other tires I've ridden, and so you'll flat a bit more than your buddies, and you'll probably go through 2 tires for each wheel over the course of a 2-3,000 mile summer season. Despite the Kevlar belt(s), the rubber used to make the ride sweet is also a bit more vulnerable to picking up small cuts from sharp crap in the road. These cuts attract grit that wears and wears through to your tube, causing nuisance flats. I'll usually put a Park (plastic) patch over those spots and successfully ride them until I've got 3-4 such patches inside the tire - at which time I toss the tire & put a new one one. So I have to order 4 tires at the beginning of each season just to make sure I'm ready when that day comes.
Scuttlebutt is that these are handmade in Italy from tire makers that continue the old Italian tire traditions while all the other manufacturers have shipped manufacturing to China. Part of me wants to keep those classic tire makers employed, too.
Is it worth it? Absolutely. Is it a somewhat high price to pay? Yeah, but again - I choose to pay the price to get such a sweet ride.

I bought a set of Veloflex Masters for a '99 Colnago Dream I had bought used, mostly because they were made in Italy and came in yellow. They looked great on the bike and it rides like, what else, a dream. So I bought the Corsas for my '08 Trek Madone, and I'm pretty well convinced they have more flex than the OEM tires that came with it. I feel better in the corners on these tires. I've used Bike Tires Direct quite a bit. They have good stuff and where I am, straight South on Interstate 5, I get 2nd day delivery without paying extra.

I enjoy riding the Palos Verdes hills located just south of Los Angeles and
this is the best cincher tire I have ridden on. It is light, comfortable and durable against flats. I have tried other big brand tires such as Vittoria, Michelin and Continental but they all had dificiencies. This tire meets all of my expectations. The only small minus I have found is the longivity but it is in line with other high performance clincher tires. I understand that Veloflex tires are hand made at the original Vittoria factory in Italy so the quality is excellent. The best part is that these tires are affordable because Bike Tires Direct has the best price in the country!

I usually ride conti's, which was my favorite, had a particular corner that i would skid around, riding with a fast group , but the veloflex's held every time, also was doing 50plus mph. descents during six gap, they gave complete confidence in them. they roll fast and then there's the price, can't say anymore.

These tires are great for racing, but not for commuting or everyday use. They corner great!
They definitely can't handle road debris very well at all.

I've settled on Veloflex as my favorite tire. Here's why I like them
- Lightweight. It makes spinning up the wheel so much easier.
- Stable. I always feel like I'm going exactly where I point the tire. There's a certain grip & suppleness to the tire that gives me confidence I can keep the rubber side down. I suspect the tubular-level thread tpi count has a lot to do with this, too.
- High quality, and handmade. I can definitely tell the difference in both these areas compared to other tires.
I do note the following things you should be aware of
- In comparison to my friends on other tires, I probably have about 20% more flats than they do. Though these tires do have a kevlar strip, glass is still going to cut thru them.
- And the rubber isn't tank-like, it's more for ride than durability. On average, I'll have to change these tires every 1,500 miles or less.
- Once a cut shows up in the rubber, you might has well ditch the tire. The rubber will gain a little gap, and crap from the road will end up in it, and start to cause flats at that spot. I've been able to extend the life with some Park tire patches, but when a real cut shows up, it's time.
Overall, the only time I DON'T use these tires is when I'm riding the cobbles. Otherwise, I'm on Veloflex.

So far I've ridden about 250 miles on these tires mounted on Vigor SL wheels. Responsive, hold the road on curvy descents exceptionally well - like a good tubular. Very quick response on climbs where you stand to get over a hump. They just need to get the right weight on the box. I'm saving them for climbing rides.
