After watching the Spur Cycle Bell videos, I bought 4 bells without hearing one ring. I bought a bell for my cross bike, one for my wife (xmas), one for my buddy who does all my bike work (for free) as a 'thank you' and accidentally ordered another (now on my road bike -). This bell is phenomenal. It rings and rings and rings. Hit it once and it's so loud for so long it just keeps on ringing. My buddy this weekend was like, 'wow, that bell never stops ringingin'. I put my finger on the bell if I want it to stop sooner which you will need to do. When flying down the bridal trails it's great to give notice to people walking a long advanced warning that cross bikes are coming up fast on your left.

I was a little apprehensive because of the price. But after receiving my Spurcycle bell, I feel its well worth the money. Not only is it compact and looks great, but is also outstanding as far as quality in material and craftsmanship. And the excellent tone does a great job of letting other cyclists or pedestrians know you are approaching.

I bought mine when it was a startup company and have not been let down by this bell. It really is a great example of fine craftsmanship. I have a black one and a silver finished one and both are equally nice. I had my concerns about the finish being durable on the black one and it has held up well. The bell has a great sound that really carries and I have been heard by pedestrians using ear buds so it works well for its intended purpose. Highly recommend this bell and glad to see it's available at Bike Tires direct.

Beautifully made, and looks great - almost not noticeable in black on a black bar, but when you look closely you appreciate the design detail and quality. I love the mounting system. It's very quick and easy (instructions are on the box, or check the Spurcycle website for a video - it took me less time to install than to watch the video), and is an almost-invisible thin metal strap rather than a clunky plastic bracket and exposed screw as on so many other bar-mounted accessories.
The ring is loud but musical. I use it on my local bike trails to warn other riders and walkers, and they seem to respond much better to a bell than to a yelled on your left.
Yes, nearly sixty bucks for a bell is expensive. But do you really want to put a cheap bell on your expensive bike?

Yes, it's a bit pricey but the beauty and simplicity of it is worth it. Made in USA, no plastic. My only gripe would be that a 2.5 mm hex wrench is not included hence the one star value deduction. The bell is a cinch to install (despite what another reviewer indicated). The directions are on the bottom of the box and there's even a link to an install video should you need it. I'd also like to tip my hat to BikeTiresDirect for its speedy processing and delivery. This lovely gem was on my doorstep in two days. Oregon to Florida. Amazing service.

This bell has beautiful tonal quality but is very difficult to install. If you are not mechanically inclined and have nimble fingers, you would do better with a conventional clamp. Mounting instructions are not included in the one I received.

Watch the video to see what makes this bell so good. SO much better than other bells on the market.
One of my cycling buddies had one on his bike and dinged it as he passed me. I did a double take and looked at his bike and stilled didn't notice the bell. It wasn't until he pointed it out that I saw it. Much smaller and stealthier than most bells, but still sounds great. It's the perfect bell for a nice road bike.

It is a bell. When you press a lever with your thumb you get a high pitch ring. It is not particularly loud. The mounting and design are top-notch and well done. I wish it was louder too.

It's not cheap, in either sense of the word, but it has a loud, lovely sound, and its unobtrusive sleekness makes me happy. I know that sounds ridiculous.
I almost did not buy it but I am glad I did--the opposite of buyer's remorse.

If you live in a populated area with shared paths and are sick of yelling, "on your left", every 30 seconds, this is a great solution. It is louder and longer than any of the other bells I've heard or tried, it even seems to cut through some people's headphones. It's been nice to use on trails and paths and sometimes I just ring it for no reason because I like the way it sounds.

The bell sounded and behaved as described and as most ratings agreed to. I was most impressed with how long the tone lasted and was audible.

It's nice to have something made in america that serves a very utilitarian purpose. I got a few to replace the Chinese knock-offs I'd gotten off Amazon. They ring ok at first, but all have gone bad over time. These bells have a great finish, great tone, and help with trail safety. Are a little ridiculously priced, but there is no other US equivalent.

I have tried them all and concluded anything small is insufficiently loud to be heard. This one is different. I mounted facing forwards to minimize drag, despite it being tiny, and it can be heard from a distance. Brilliant!

Sold my motorcycle to build up a monster cross bike. I hand picked every component with care. I had heard and seen one in person on ragbrai. Beautifully machined. Nice distinct tone that carries very well. There are cheap knock-offs, but Im happy to support American manufacturing.

Paid higher price for the real deal. Very happy. The bell rings loud and clear for a courteous heads up on the trail.
Have one for my road bike and my wifes mountain bike.
Thank you

You could easily spend under $10.00 for a generic bike bell, but I think the premium is worth it given the uniquely pretty ring. The durable fit & finish will guarantee this product will last and not corrode.
Definitely a buy it for life type of bell.

The quality and sound of this bell are second to none. Love the size also, just seems to disappear on my bike.

Bought the cheap china knock off on amazon that sounded like trash and broke litterally a few minutes after getting it. Bit the bullet and spent on this.
Looks beautiful
Sounds rich and loud
Feels sturdy and great quality.
You wont be disappointed

Expensive but...so was my bike. This really is a n ice bell with a concert hall ring tone. Easy to install, fits the 38mm bar and come in black for those who prefer the current fad color. The tone is what sold me and it's even better when actually on the bike. My four star rating on value is because of the extra charge for black.

Love this bell! Low profile on the bike, but a nice loud sound that resonates for like 20 seconds and gets peoples attention. A very solid and well made product. Easy and secure installation. It is a little expensive, but well worth it for the coolest bicycle bell ever made. I've had it on my wish list for a couple of years and finally bought it. I'm very glad I bought it.
