Yes, these shoes are VERY expensive, even when BTD discounts them down.
First off, they're stunning to look at. They should bet, they're Italian and they're really expensive. But that's not why I bought them. I bought them to replace a pair of Sidi Wire Carbon Air Road Shoes, which I bought on a referral from a friend that rides and races and knows his equipment very well. The Wire Air Carbon's, which are now my back up pair, have close to 40,000 miles in them in all kinds of weather (including rain). So, second, Sidi's last, especially if you take care of them.
Third, the fit on these shoes is even better than the Wire Carbon Air. The center placement of the retention dials is a great change from my older Sidis. The shoes remain snug on my feet, and are easy to adjust, while riding, if my feet swell during a long ride. I wear 48's, and have a narrow foot, so fit is really important to me.
Fourth is weight. If you are a weight weenie (I'm not), you'll appreciate how light these shoes are.
So, save your pennies, wait for the discounted price, and buy a pair. You will not regret it.

The Sidi Shot Carbon Road Shoe is to be considered as an excellent investment for cyclists. The market for road shoes is an open market. If you want the best then take the time and try Sidi Shot Carbon Road Shoe. I have found this Road Shoe to be the BEST for me. The comfort was felt the very first time of placing on my feet. The process of how to tighten and release the shoe may a bit different. Once the you have these steps down you can compare it as if placing gloves on your hands.
I am very pleased owner of The Sidi Shot Carbon Road Shoe and recommend very highly.

The Sidi Shot shoes provide great comfort and stability - especially on long rides - they can be adjusted on the fly and are vented to keep feet cool - I've owned a lot of different road shoes - these are the best - great looking and worth every penny.

Have worn Sidi road shoes for over 40 years. These are a wonderful fit, can adjust to really make the fit perfect. Truly a pro level race road shoe. The design is awesome, very well made shoe . Plus the Bike Tires Direct price on sale was awesome! Once you have worn these, you will never wear anything less, a very well made road shoe. Thank you BTD!

I like everything about this shoe, the looks and the fit. I have worn Sidi's since 1970, when they were lace up shoes made out of kangaroo hides. Will wear nothing but Sidi. They are expensive, and I would not exactly call them a steal, but you get what you pay for in quality.

After a pair of Specialized Experts went south in six years, it was time to replace. Louis Garneau and Pearl Izumi were both tried and failed to meet comfort and performance needs. Sidi was the next step up in cost and I am thrilled to have spent the extra money. Excellent fit and function. Over the last few rides these have broken in, it is as though they are forming to my feet in every dimension. Great arch support. Gorgeous to look at also. The recent rides in muggy weather also demonstrated their superior venting. Overall, I am very pleased with the material, fit, finish, serviceability, and style of the shoes. You are getting what you pay for here. I hope to have these for years to come.

I have always like Sidi shoes and after trying other brands came back to them and very happy.

great shoes, very comfortable, easy on and off. only complaint is they could use a little more ventilation for hot days.

I ride just about every day for at least an hour. These shoes are easy to put on and secure and just as easy to remove. I really like the all black look of the shoe as they are understated. The Double Tecno-3 Push System is an excellent closure mechanism. Overall I am very happy with my shoes but have a couple of observations. One shoe has two areas with a loose thread and I hope it will not get worse over time. The Tecno-3 replacement parts seem to be much more available than the Double Tecno-3. I hope over time the parts are available in case I need them.

These are great shoes. They better be, for their cost. I have used Sidi shoes since the mid 90's. While I am accustomed to how Sidi shoes fit, this is the first pair without an overtop strap. Initially it was awkward to tighten the shoes while in the saddle, after using these shoes for 500 miles I am familiar with the dials and am able to tighten with no troubles. Loosening the shoes are easy with the two levers. These shoes start a bit narrow but will be more comfortable when broken in, standard Sidi fit.
These are extraordinary shoes with a good fit for my feet. My last set of Sidi lasted for seven years, this set should do at least the same. This site has great prices and replacement parts for these shoes.

I ride 200 miles per week, so fit and comfort of my shoes is vital. These fit me very well at first, but then I realized that it was rubbing just underneath my ankle bone. Fortunately, after a few weeks, either the shoes or I got used to it and they have been fine.
This is definitely a warm weather shoe as on rides where the temperature was in the low 50s or below, my toes were cold, even with the vents closed. Not a defect, just something to be aware of.
My biggest complaint would be the fasteners. They are easy to tighten because I leave the little tabs up when I take the shoes off at the end of a ride. But getting the shoe off is a two-hand job. Perhaps I just don't know the knack of getting the tabs up and pressing the release buttons using one hand, but that is a small annoyance. The shoes look and feel great.

I have been a Sidi fan for years. There quality materials, durability, and fit are amazing. I have been using the previous model (Sidi Wire Vent) which I thought was a great road shoe. However, Sidi has once again raised the bar with this shoe. The new Sidi Shot Vent fits even better.
The main difference between this shoe and the previous model is the new symmetrical closure system. The previous system was asymmetrical as the dial adjusters were on the side of the shoe. With the new symmetrical retention system the dial adjusters are in the center on top of the shoe. This really improves how the shoe conforms to your foot, giving you a much more uniform fit. The result is more comfortable and precise. This is especially helpful if you have a high instep. I have not experienced any hot spots or pressure point discomfort with these shoes.
As far as price is concerned they are expensive. However cost is subjective. From my perspective the cycling shoe is one of the most critical pieces we use. They connect the engine (your legs) to the machine (your bike). To me its worth the extra cost to get the most comfortable and precise fit I can get. At the end of the day I want to focus on my ride, not cycling shoes that dont fit and cause me discomfort.

Once again Sidi has designed an excellent shoe! You do pay for what you get!

Excellent craftsmanship and durability. Love the fit and the quality of the materials. Only three stars on value rating because of the high price point. But you get what you pay for in these shoes.

What you expect from Sidi

Not the lightest but maybe the most comfortable. If you can find them on sale, buy them.

Great shoe, great fit, becomes one with your feet. Can make them pretty tight without being uncomfortable. A bit heavy and do not breath as much as some others, but fantastic otherwise

It is probably me, because this happens on all my Sidis regardless of the closure system (with the exception of velcro), but the Techno 3 closure in the center does not hold the wires tight. Over the course of a two hour ride I need to tighten the wires two or three times (oddly on the left side more than the right). The system is super easy to use so this is not a big problem, and the comfort of the shoe, which is incedible, trumps the minor inconvenience. I do not think, however, I would ever race in a shoe that needs this type of attention, at least not a mass start race.

These do run small. I had been using Sidi's for many many years always size 44. I got these in 43 and needed to stretch them and widen the toe box slightly. I like the adjustability of the closures and heel cup. Also bottom vent is a nice feature especially during hot weather.

Ive ridden all manner of Sidis since 1995 and currently have Ergo 4s and Carbon Vents (vernice). They are both fine shoes - but the Sidi Shot just blows them out of the water. Ive never ridden a shoe that is as stiff as this one and as comfortable. In almost 30 years I have never had a shoe this comfortable, and it performs well on top of that. It is pricey, well, really expensive, and maybe not for everyone, but I love them.
