My ICE VTX recumbent race trike has 406/20" tubeless-ready wheels in front, and is used in triathlon and Ironman 70.3 Challenged Athlete Foundation events. Until recently I was using the more expensive Pro One tubeless tires, but because of a latex allergy I always ran them with ultralight tubes instead of tubeless. They were fast, comfortable, great on corners, the downside being they were a real pain to mount or dismount - especially during roadside repairs! But until recently, there were no alternative competition grade tires in 28-406/20x1.1 size.
I recently ordered these ONE tires, and after a couple months of riding, I can say that they are everything the PRO Ones are, except they are MUCH easier to install. I can't detect any difference in cornering, speed, or road feel with these tires. Installation is so very much easier than the tubeless version that I don't feel roadside repairs will be an issue at all (It is about a half hour job with the tubeless versions - a 3 tire lever project at the side of the road!!)
I have been using a Pirelli P Zero TPU tube in my 700c rear wheel with great results, but put off installing TPU 20" tubes on the front wheels just because it was so hard to work with the PRO ONE tires on my rims. The ONEs, however, are so easy to use I may take a chance on using 406/20" TPU tubes on my front wheels.
I haven't had these long enough to comment on wear, except to say that they seem to be wearing about like the PRO ONE tubeless version. Usually the PRO ONEs would last 3500-5000 miles of combined training and racing, and so far the ONEs don't seem to be wearing any differently. (Trike front tires wear faster in racing than bike tires, because they don't lean in corners. Rear tire wear is accelerated in corners not only by the lack of leaning, but by competition habit of braking the inside front wheel and drifting the rear wheel out for faster cornering.)
So far I really enjoy these tires, and unless there are surprises, I will be using them for all my training and racing needs.

This is now my go-to front tire for my Vision recumbent. I used to use Continental Grand Prix, but those sidewalls would sometimes start to deteriorate. I wish that Continental made Gatorskins in this size, but they're not available.
I get about 5,000-6,000 miles of wear on these Schwalbe tires, riding only on paved roads, I can't remember when I last got a flat, and I find that with the high pressure, it rolls well, without any problems.

This comes in a rare 406-28 size and is the only high performance choice in that size. In replacing an older Grand Prix (no longer available) in the same size, I found that the profile height of this tire is significantly taller - creating some clearance problems on my older style Lightning P-38 fork. It works - but clearance is about 1 mm. There is plenty of clearance on the newer style forks. Continental has a tire in this size that does not have the high performance emphasis of the Schwalbe One. I may compromise and try that next time to see if fit is better.

This replaced the OEM Marathon on my Lightning P-38 recumbent. It was easy to mount and WOW what a difference in roll resistance. Ive had no trouble with flats, despite some challenging road surfaces. Given the limited selection of performance oriented 20 tires - I think the rating here should be outstanding.

This tire is used as the front tire on a Easy Racer, Goldrush recumbent bike. Have always used a Continental in the past which isn't available anymore. This Durango seems to be preforming very well so far. More time will tell!!

I have used Schwalbe Durano 20 (28-406) tires on the front wheels of Catrike 700 for the last 16,000 of 18,500 miles on the trike. It rolls fast and has proven far more durable than other tires I tried on the 700 when I first got it. My riding is on paved US, state and county roads.

I ride a recumbent bike about 100 miles/week year round. I have 58,000 miles on the bike and have worn out many 20" front tires of different brands. This Schwalbe 20 406 road tire is the best brand I have found so far.
It has worn very well and has very few cuts or tears and has over 3500miles so far. I plan to replace it soon, just due to the the miles it has on it, not because of any defects.

I have used these tires on my Bike Friday for several years and am very satisfied. Over 3000 miles of useful life despite more revolutions per mile.

I get a ton of miles and no flats out of these tires! I run them on a recumbent trike that I put 1000's of miles on each year sliding corners and at screaming speeds and the always hold up! Couldn't be more satisfied with the cost per mile!!

These tires are used on a Catrike and are smoother and softer than the Kojaks they replaced.

This is the front tire of a LWB recumbent and does a great job. Easy to slip onto the wheel and great traction.

Good product, reasonable price. Tires in 406x28 not ubiquitous and this tire is an acceptably fast tire. However, according to rolling resistance tests, these need 4-5 watts per tire more than GP4000sII tires.

Great front tire for my Gold Rush recumbent bike. A little difficult to install but talcum powder & a bead jack helps.

I purchased the Schwalbe Durano (406) 20 inch bike tires for my Bike Friday NWT for an upcoming month-long ride in Italy. Most riders will be on full-sized bikes (some rentals), & I wanted a narrower, performance tire for my 2004 Friday. Usually, I ride 1.35 wide tires with a Kevlar belt, but this time I am trying the 1.1 inch wide tire. Right now, I have 500 miles on the set of new tires, & I ride rough roads here in Tucson, AZ. The tires have performed well. Easy to change & mount.

There's really nothing I don't like about the tires and I mounted them so easily.

I had another Schwalbe tire but they were discontinued so this is the second time I've had these. The first set of Durano's didn't seem to last long, the side walls seem to have cracks, a lot of cracks. And the tires were not very old and always kept indoors. I don't remember my other Schwalbe's having that problem and they were on the bike for 3 to 4 years before replacing with the Durano's.
We'll see how this set last. Oh my last rear tire had a puncture or something on the side!! Not sure if it was from one of the cracks or I hit something?

These tires are very durable and smooth rolling. I use them on my touring recumbent.
