I put these tires on my mountain bike to turn it into a fitness bike/commuter bike. I've put about 500 miles on them so far and they are fantastic! They feel very smooth and comfortable, and they roll a lot better than the knobby tires that were originally on the bike. To be clear I'm not saying that they are the most low rolling resistance tires available for this application, but compared to what the bike originally came equipped with, it almost feels like I have a little bit of an e-assist compared to how it used to roll. I can consistently ride one gear higher than I was able to on the original tires.

I live at the beginning of a long bike path that goes for many miles on the beach. Therefore it is common to have some sand on the path. The path is made from smooth cement. More than once I might hit a patch on a turn and the front end would wash off. I replaced the tires with the Schwalbe Marathon E-Plus. The problem never happened again.
The tires on the Big Apple wore quickly as well. The Marathon E-Plus wear well and have extreme puncture protection. In addition I have them on my Class 3 e-bike and never have had a flat on either bikes.
Lesson of my story is get the tire that Marathon E-Plus. You'll have better confidence at any speed on water or sand, great comfort, best puncher protection and a tire that will last you for many miles.

I'm a big guy, riding about 50/50 on-road/off-road, 75/25 paved/unpaved (gravel, dirt, etc.), and these tires have been great. I ride a Trek X-Caliber 9 as a "go everywhere" bike. They have handled broken pavement, chunky trails, grass, gravel (coarse and fine) and more very well. As I live near the NJ shore, I do have to note that they aren't always effective in soft stuff (loose/deep sand, mud, snow) and low-traction stuff (wet roots, ice, etc.). Part of these limits is on me, as I don't alwayds drop the tire pressure to reflect the various surfaces (big guy more concerned about pinch flats). On smooth pavement, they are smooth riding, too. Since I'm in NJ, I'm unfortunately often pushed to the debris-filled right-hand edge of the road, where I have run over a good amount of not-avoided junk without trouble. Sturdy, over 2000 miles so far, comfortable ride. I worry these will go out of production (they have been a long-time offering of Schwalbe), and I contemplate buying a reserve set to keep on hand.

I purchased a set of 29 for my Giant Talon 4 and i love them !! I ride primarily on the road and sidewalks approximately 15 miles a day and these tires have handled everything that ive thrown at them. I was concerned at at first about the size and how they would fit on the bike from a stability standpoint but they are really beefy and very fast rolling on the pavement. My transitions from the road to the sidewalk are much easier now and it feels much smoother going from the curb to the pavement as well. I am definitely well pleased with the performance so far.

I have a Haibike Hardtail MTB. I do a lot of miles on the road. Therefore I replaced my knobby tires with the Big Apples. Often I commute on a beach bike bath. I have had a number of near slips and a few falls with these tires, all at slow speeds when I come in contact with the smallest amount of sand. Maybe it's not fair to judge, because that I have not tried other brands for the street. Other than that, they seem OK. I've put on maybe thousand miles with no flats or any other issues. When these tires need to be replaced, I'm thinking of trying a set of the Continental Contact Cruisers. When that happens, I'll be able to offer a compare and contrasting review.

I ride mostly on paved roads and sidewalks in Florida. My son and son in law surprised me on Christmas morning with my old stock tires wrapped up and new Big Apples on my ebike. Original tires were getting thin after 150 miles. The new tires ride great, look great and seem to roll much better increasing my range, but, I generally ride on good pavement at 5 and 10 mile trips. Just clicked over 75 miles and still look brand new. Thanks Santa

I have had these tires on my Schwinn Revel 29 in. bike. I put the 29x2.35 tires on it they are great to ride the city with. I ride mine in the pot hole infested streets of New Orleans with no trouble only had 1 flat in 3 years . I ride 50 miles a week. They are fast once you get them moving, seems the weight works with you instead of against you. Have rode in rain without a problem. They worked so good I put a set of 26x2.15 on my tandem bike made a huge difference with the ride of that bike also. Seems like they will coast forever.

I run these on an electric bike (BBSHD) that regularly cruises at 30mph. These tires provide a smooth and stable ride at speed and i don't fear catastrophic failure. After 300 miles i cam attest to being very satisfied

I found this set of tires to be everything this bike needed. I'm not much of an off road rider, but I know these tires can handle an occasional trail with ease. I love the smooth ride, and rather surprised how tough they are when riding on less than perfect surfaces.

This tire is the best urban or beach cruiser tire there is, period.
Super fast, super comfortable, reflective sidewall, and great puncture protection. Dont hestistate on this tire, and if you can find it on sale, even better!

Excellent traction- supple, cushioning ride- bright reflective stripes that let others see me better at night. I had heard for years how good the Big Apple was, so after having very positive experiences with Schwalbe in the past I put them on the top of my list. No regrets, these are extremely hard to beat and they deliver on the promises.

This is my second pair of Big Apples. I don't think I can add anything to the already glowing reviews. They roll beautifully and I don't get flats with them. Perfect tire for my Surly Ogre.

I like the Big Apple so much I bought another set for my second Breezer Thunder mountain bike. Most of my riding is pavement, but these babies are great if I have to bail. Rolling resistance is not bad at all. Reflective stripe very visible. Go fat is what I say!

I bought these for my new Felt Nine-E 20 E-Bike and have had ZERO issues. I commute about 30 miles a day
and and have zero flats at 3000 miles and counting. After 6 months I expect, I will need a new set around the
4-5000 mile marker. 95% of my riding is on pavement, these tires are quick and agile. Since I bought these tires,
I have changed brake pads 3 times and have replaced the front chain ring, rear cassette, and chain. I don't think there is a better 29er city tire on the market today. Please note they are largewide, just make sure they will fit your bike. I have had trouble with some older bike racks on public transit where the tires don't quite fit, I carry
a tie down strap to ensure it will stay in the rack.

I use these tires on my beach cruiser. I ride 40 to 80 miles per week along the beach trail. These tires ride so much better than the tires I replaced. The ride is smoother and not as jarring as the old tires.

Potholes are a part of riding in Omaha. I ride on the residential streets to avoid high traffic and in so doing, ride some of the worst streets in Omaha. These tires are so huge on my mt bike that i barely feel the potholes and road hazards are not as hazardous. On my way to work today, I heard something shoot out from under my back wheel. I was certain i would flat out and kept checking on the way to work but never did flat out. they were expensive but compared to the cost of new rims, i think this was a good purchase.

A good 29er city tire, but a light racing tire it is not. It weighs more than some of my XC racing mtb tires. Good speed, but not great. That said, it rolls very smooth and very quiet on pavement and, unlike some other 29er pavement style tires I've tried, no self steer. It tracks true. Love the 2.35" width for comfort. Also mounted up very easily on my Fargo 29er.

Bike Marin, Alpine Trail 29er.
I'm about 6'3', 200
Running 50 psi
Averaging 75-90 miles a week
Urban ridingcommuting, mostly paved surfaces with moments of grass or hard, dry dirt, regularly getting up to 40-45 mph.
Going from knobby tires, I have gained about 5 mph on my top speed and about 3 mph on my average speed.
Overall ride is super smooth, cracks and small sticks can't even be felt.
Very pleased!

I put these on my 29er and it was a huge difference, I often ride around on streets and some trash alleys that are unpaved ,
I found they are faster and easer, as well as smoother and quieter than the more mountain bike tires that came with my bike. I bet if your on the fence like i was for a bit you will wish you got them sooner, because thats what happened to me !

These tire are great. The look good, ride couldn't be any better. I've been using my 29rd around town on it's old MTB tires. From asphalt, up on curbs, down sidewalks...oh I didn't know what I was missing. These tires are perfect for the asphalt jungle and occasional off-road. Put that PSI up there and you're sailing with ease!!!
