My Fuji Altamira would occasionally throw a chain on the inside and would end up tearing up bits of the carbon frame near the bottom bracket. It was also a big pain trying to get it back out since it would get wedged in a difficult spot. It happened to me multiple times and when I passed the bike on to my wife last year, she's had a few issues as well and wasn't able to correct it as easily as I was. Luckily I read about these somewhere and installed it onto the bike for her. It's so simple but works so well. It keeps her chain from throwing when shifting to the smaller front cog. Gives me piece of mind that I she's be less likely to break down somewhere while she's out riding and it's one less thing for her to worry about. If you have any potential for throwing your chain when switching to the small ring, I'd highly recommend these. So much cheaper than trying to repair issues your chain may cause on your frame!
