Received in good order as described online.

Rated 4 star because I haven't had to use it yet...touch wood. But it is exactly as described online.

Thank you for your feedback.

Compact, easy to take along, works great

I agree with the other reviewers, this is a great inflator. Having helped friends with inferior products, this one is far superior. Maybe a little expensive, but buy the best and be done with it.

Thank you for your feedback.

Quality item, made well and easy to use

We try to carry one of these in each of our bikes under saddle bag along with a CO2 cylinder so we don't have to transfer this stuff bike to bike when we switch to a different ride.

I like the way this one feels and operates. don't think you will lose a cylinder of CO2 to the air with this one.

Thank you for your feedback.

Elegant and compact

The Shiny Object is really amazing. Have used hand pumps for the past 35 years and decided to try out a CO2 inflator. Wanted it to

- Be easy to use as I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

- Be extremely compact so it, two co2 cartridges and other basic accessories I carried could fit in an extra small under the saddle bag.

- Work well on presta valves while filling 700 x 23 road tire, and allow for easily regulated air flow along with onoff ability.

- Be Made from quality materials that would last.

- Not cause frostbite when using it.

- Make my cycling friends I showed it to go, Wow!

The Shiny Object exceeded my expectations. It is such an elegant design, simple to use, and just so darn compact. REMEMBER to double check control knob is in the off position before screwing on a cartridge.

Know Shiny Object is also available in a version that includes a leather CO2 cartridge cover, and BTDirect version I bought was just inflator. I just take off one cycling glove and use to hold cartridge. Like simplicity and figured leather cover is just one more thing for me to loose, see Not the sharpest tool in shed comment above.

Thank you for your feedback.

Slick little tool

I picked up this inflator in the hopes of reducing space in my already overloaded seat bag. It is small but better yet is that it really does a nice job. I like that it has a dial you can spin to openclose the cartridge. Feels much better built than the cheesy yellow inflator that I used to drag along.

Thank you for your feedback.

what's not to love

Disclaimer haven't actually had occasion to use it yet, but how can you not be impressed with the product?! Compact, bullet-proof(comment about adjustment knob retaining screw noted and notwithstanding), elegantly simple. Not that I want a flat, but I'm eager to use it!

Thank you for your feedback.

Work well, easy to use, durable, good seal to valve stem, 160 PSI

This all-metal inflator looks very durable, and worked very well. Tires measured 160 PSI after use. Use one catridge for each empty tire. This unit is also great for topping off tires because the unit will shut off completely after use and unused CO2 will not leak out.

Sealed easily to presta valve stems.

Caution - the unit will freeze your hand if you don't use the leather sleeve!

Only problem was that the metal knob was loose when shipped. The knob is held on with a allen-head bolt that had was not tightened in the factory. Would have gotten five stars if the knob had been properly attached. Also, no instructions!

See Portland Designs web page for a video demonstration.

Thank you for your feedback.

i have 2 one in my saddle bag and another in my wife's bag

i've been using these since 2013. in that time i've had 2 warranty issues which PDW replaced or repaired them. one time the center pin blew out and thus wouldn't puncture the cartridge. the second one was the dial would just spin and not move the stem. so in 6 yrs 2 failures in 50k miles. it doesn't seem that unreasonable, but if you've found a more reliable one, please share it. i love being able to slowly regulate the flow and partially inflate a tire and make sure it's seated and check for add'l leaks rather than blowing the load in one go. i also don't need the full 16g cartridge for 25mm tires, so saving a bit in the cartridge and throwing it in a jersey pocket with some extra is nice. if it had a pressure gauge, i'd give it another star.

Thank you for your feedback.

This shiny object works great, it is so easy to regulate the flow and it will hold the leftover CO2 for days. Its small and light. You can't ask for anything more.

The simplest, no fail, CO2 inflater I've used.

I have a Lezyne and Innovations valve inflators, but have replaced both with the PDW inflator. The PDW is the easiest, quickest, and fail-safe nozzle compared to the other 2. I inflate in 2 steps. At step 1, my PDW allows me to have very slow, controlled release (twist the valve knob) to minimally inflate the inner tube, but with enough air control to see the tire is properly seeded inside, around the rim. My Lezyne and Innovations is simple push, but each push comes in full bursts. I found these bursts are more difficult to control in my step 1. Step 2 is my more robust, but still controlled, release to reach my desired PSI. There are certainly experts using Lezyne and Innovations, but I'm not one of them. I don't flat that often. But, when I do, the PDW has ridden me of all my previous fumbling and frustrations I had with the other 2 brands.

Thank you for your feedback.

Great!

Very easy to use, easy to control how much air goes into tire. Leftover CO2 does not leak away even days later. Highly recommend.

Works great for a short time

Works great when it does, I like the onoff control of CO2 flow. But after a few uses the rubber O seal that wraps around the stem literally blew up.
