I've ridden these tires for four consecutive winters, losing a total of 0 studs in the process. The person who claimed that these tires will last five seasons is completely correct, these tires are super long lasting. I've also only had a single flat on these, which is pretty impressive considering I only commute by bike or walk places.
These tires strike a nice balance between traction and speed. There are versions with more studs that grip better, but they are much slower. While these Hakkapeliittas don't have perfect grip on ice, I've ridden uphill on solid ice repeatedly with these tires without a problem. Additionally, the thin width is an unexpected asset as the tire tends to cut through slush and wet snow very efficiently. As such, in times when everyone else on the road (Mostly cars) was slipping around, I held a nice straight line on these.
If you're winter commuting, these are probably the tires for you. These tires are an excellent value and I am really impressed by the longevity of them. Honestly, these are the best tires I've ever owned and I'm baffled as to why people buy other studded tires.

Could use more studs. Still can slip if you're not careful.

Been riding these through plowed and un-plowed snow with ice underneath. They grip well in corners and on hills while seated, and even some standing. Increase traction and sense of safety and security. Never thought these kind of tires would make it possible to ride in such conditions. The wider, more studded versions must be able to handle much deeper snow...at slower speeds. Have not lost any studs in 2 winter seasons. Easy to install.

These tires are fantastic. I commute everday and run all my errands on my bike all year, which means lots of snow ice and wind for 6 to 8 months here in Minneaota. In fact as I write this on April 11th it's snowing outside, got a couple inches already this morning and still falling. I've had the A10's for one winter now and they are the best winter tires I've ever had. They cut through light snow and slush like it's not there, and grip into even glare ice like a hockey skate (in fact I have ridden these on an actual hockey rink). All winter (avg. 5 or 6 miles a day) biking all over the city through glass, nails, metal debris, and horrible potholes with not a single flat. They are a little stiff going on the first time, but I'll gladly trade that for never having to deal with a flat especially in winter. After one season they show very minimal wear did not lose any studs at all, tread wear was much less than expected these should last me at least 5 seaons.
Great tire, even though they're not the cheapest given their performance and low level of wear I give them 5 stars for value.

this is the smallest 700C tire i could find to fit my old peugeot 10 speed. i'd recommend it for anyone that has minimal chainstay or front forks clearances.
