Awesome looking tires and love the tread pattern! Unfortunately, they absolutely will not fit Chicago made Schwinn's with the S5 / S6 rims and it broke my heart as I was very impressed after receiving them. Trust me on this, you do not want to torque the sides out of your vintage Schwinn rims trying to mount the wrong size tires. Take heed and don't try it. What you need for your S5 / S6 rims are genuine nos or used original Schwinn tires or Kenda or Sunlite brands size 37 - 597 size. These are the ONLY correct size PERIOD !!! There may be other manufacturers of the 37 - 597 size but I am unaware. As far as the Michelin's on your application, It'll be love at first sight !!!

Tire sizes got more complicated than 50 years ago. Required some research to find that my nominal 26-inch rims fit 590-mm tires (bead diameter). Size unavailable locally, so went mail-order. Very little wear since installation six months ago.

These white-walls looks great on my Raleigh Superbe 3=speed restoration project and didn't put me out much to purchase. Note that I don't pump them higher than about 40psi because they then rub against the fenders.

Beautiful tires add was super stoked when they showed up. Sadly, they are not the right size to fit the S5 rims I have. I should have looked at the reviews before pulling the trigger. My bad. The size that you need is 37-597 and is also labeled as 26 x 1 3/8. Also be aware that a normal 26 rim strip will not work either.

Perfect tire for the vintage bicycles of yesteryear with wonderful safe reflective sides and gripping power plus a smooth ride.

The product seems fine.
The previous ratings seem fishy - I have never seen an old Schwinn that uses this size.
The Schwinn size is '597' - these are '590'-s.
This tire particularly will not fit old Schwinns.
British three-speeds and old US dept. stores bikes had (have) this size.
(like Free Spirits - I know, I have three of them...)

Replaced old tires on a 70's Raleigh Sport. Nice size and tread, work great.

Used to replace dry rotted originals on a 1967 Schwinn racer. The tires provide a fresh look without taking away the retro feel of my bike. And the reflective strip is its just enough to keep you safe without being too flashy. Would buy again.

I put these tires on my old Schwin Racer and I like the ride, the look and the overall performance.

It's par for the course, that when I fine something I like, that is a cut above in quality, they drop it. I found some from England and Italy, with shipping being around $35. It makes me want to stop buying Michelin for my motorcycles and automobiles to protest. I have a pair of them on my 1977 Raleigh Sports. They ride terrific. If I am careful, perhaps they will last several years. I especially like the fact I can run the tire pressure a bit higher than most other brands in that size.

I bought a set for an old 1960s 'Savoy' 2 speed Japan with the EA-3 wheels and it turned out well,
I digg the looks as well as the reflective strip around the gumwall ,
too bad they dont have that reflective strip on the 27" version - nice when riding after dark
