I bought a new Motobecanne not long ago. The front tire blew off of the rim at the normal pressure, so I replaced both tires. I am averaging 5% faster with these tires. Some said these were hard to mount, but not for me. I didn't even need tools.

This tire is excellent on road or even a little bit of gravel if you so desire. Flats are almost non- existing with the thick tread. In the wetter conditions it can slip a little when pushed but it would have to be very wet. The reflective sidewall is a definite ?? plus for night riders or pre-dawn patrols.

Michelin tires never get the love they deserve from the bicycle Illuminati. They are rugged and give the consumer unrivaled bang- for-the-buck. I use the nominal 35mm which actually plumps out to 37mm.

Good all round tire for my single speed gravel bike for a range of road and weather conditions

I've had these tires on my daily commuter for the last 5 weeks and I love them. They roads here in Nashville are garbage and these tires have held up to the daily punishment of them. They're solid in the wet and don't kick up too much of a rooster tail. I would definitely buy these again, and will when they wear out.

Been running the 38mm tires for 19 months, it has made a world of difference compared to the OEM set! After about 800 miles of mostly pavement with some gravel, not even 1 puncture or even a flat! The tires have stayed on the rims since I first put them on. However, recently (800 miles) they have developed a bulge with torn threads on the sidewall which will surely blow out soon. Was hoping for a longer lifespan, but they were great while they lasted.

Nice tires - ride smoothly. Extra tread will reduce flats from debris on urban roads. These were heftier than the original road tires so required a bit of maneuvering to install - had to deflate then inflate once mounted on bike but they did fit.

Love Michelin tires but the Protek didn't meet my expectations for this quality manufacturer. Bought a set of 700cX28mm for Winter road riding for the gravel bike. One is still going strong at 1800 miles, the other blew out the sidewall after about 1500 miles while on a local century ride. Had some difficulties getting the tires to mount and seat on tubeless rims using tubes as well.

these are non performance tires for a bike that rides around town.

Got a set of these for $XXX each on the daily special, an unbelievable steal. I'm riding the 40mm 7 days a week for about 6 months now. I can' say enough good about these tires except I'd replace them again at full price in a heartbeat. I like to over inflate all my tires, rock hard. They roll great and track really good on turns, and off road. They mount easy, and have lived through a brutally hot summer here in S.C. on chip-seal roads well over 100 degrees carrying 230 pound loads with ease. These could be the best tires I have EVER rode staying in the moderately priced tire range. I weigh about 175 and carry tools and groceries regularly. I can't believe these got ANY negative reviews, take those with a grain of salt. Or did I get the best set ever made?

I enjoyed these tires for about 1,000mi with no issues.
Afterwards, I started experiencing issues with gunshot flats, just a sudden loud pop. It happened no matter what kind of tubes I installed. While I never quite found the issue causing this, I noticed the stitching by the wire bead coming loose, and I saw my tube protruding from the tire. I had to get rid of the tires. There is a chance that the wire bead became exposed.
This may have been a fluke, otherwise I would be giving it much lower ratings. I still trust Michelin, so don't rule this tire out if you're on a budget. Otherwise, maybe go for the higher end models of this tire.

Ride over lots of rough rocks, shards of glass broken in the street. Haven't had a puncture yet. Great traction and expect them to last!

Measured with digital calipers. I have been using Michelin City Tires for a few years. Great tires.

I finally replaced my very old oversized tires on Bridgestone commuter bike with these Michelin Protek tires. They handle well and seem sturdy!

I've been riding a pair of these for about 6 months 5 days a week and I have only good things to say. Good traction in wet or dry, with no flats so far, even with with post storm junk all over the road. I switched to Michelin after another brand gave me sidewall failures. I couldn't be happier.

The 40 mm wide tire is actually 46 mm. I measured this several times with my calipers. My touring frame can handle up to 42 mm and the product description says that larger sizes are 2 mm wider, so I figured that I would be safe with the 40 mm. At 75 PSI the tire is just begins to rub on my frame. Once again, this is what I get for going cheap.

I needed a cheap set of tires and these fit the bill. They tend to feel soft and the tread is not very deep so these probably won't be the best if you do a lot of miles or skids. Overall, a pretty good tire for the price.
