I bought this tire to replace wide knobbies on a chain-store mountain bike to adapt it for casual town riding. Rolling resistance was dramatically reduced, ride quality was increased, and the bike is much more sure-footed in paved corners. But there is no significant loss of traction or control in hard-packed dirt or grass. All in all, a highly successful swap I would recommend to anyone.

I have been riding on these tires for over 3 years, and I love them. There are so many 1.5" city tires out there. I don't think 1.5" provides very good protection for your rims. I put a fatal flatspot in a nice 26" rim hitting a curb with a 1.5". That made me switch to the Country Rock 1.75". The wider casing gives more air volume to soak up hits. This tire is a good blend of rim and tube protection, wet and dry grip, light weight, and smooth rolling. They wear a long time as well. You can't go wrong buying a pair of these for an old mountain bike turned townie.

I was looking for a tire that had much less resistance than my huge knoby tires for a good price. These were just what I was looking for. They roll very easily compared to my old tires and have decent traction.I primarily ride on the street so these are perfect for my daily ride. Great value and great tires!

I've had a set of Michelin Country Rock tires on my L.L.Bean hybrid bike for the past two years. I primarily do 15-30 mile street rides with an occasional trail ride. These tires have performed exceptionally well in both environments! Very smooth rolling on paved surface, but with enough bite to hold firmly off road. Tires lookfeel sturdy and seem to be wearing well. I would not hesitate to purchase this model tire again in the future. Highly recommended.

A very nice tire that is an easy low resistance roller. Suitable for hard pack trail and street riding. Can handle some loose slop in a pinch, but best on the more groomed trails.

Rarely ride my MTB off road these days so bought these and got rid of my off-road knobbies. Huge difference- rolls easy, quiet and tons of grip on the pavement. 1.75" is wide enough for grass and hardpack dirt roadsgravel. Also does well on pot holes and shoddy roads. Really love these tires, easy and cheap way to transform MTB to a commuteron road bike.

I was looking for a commute tire for the MTB and came across this wonder. After checking local shops and even the almighty Sprawlmart i was amazed to find this beauty and at such a low price, i figured even if it was junk it was cheap enought to replace three times a summer. Well to my suprise the thing holds up Awesome, grips like crazy on pavement and hard pack, and rolls about a million times easier than the old knobby. So glad I found your site and these tires. It also helps that I live in Eugene so shipping is a only a day.

These are my rainy-season street tires here in Oregon. The tread seems to be just enough to help bite through wet leaves & mud on the street, and isn't enough to slow me down too much. Tires seem durable, well made, and are very easy to mount dismount. They don't have any puncture protection, but I use them with tire liners and "thornproof" tubes no flats this past winter.

I have been riding on these since June of 2007 on the streets and trails of San Antonio, Texas. They converted my late model TREK 840 into a nice urban trail and street bike. Solid control on the streets and dusty trails...not too bad in mild wet conditions..handled a two flash flood rides home very confidently.

Great tire for mountain bike doing double duty off road and as commuter. Can handle 90% conditions on maintained trails and still zips up and down hills in town. Only thing is I dont like country rock??????. Would buy again.

I used this tire on the rails-to-trails system, with crushed limestone surface.
The tire has very low rolling resistance, and has just a bit of bite on this surface, so perfect in those respects.
It's very flexible, and easy to install on the bike rims, without tools, which is great for fixing flats in the field.
Unfortunately the rubber is very soft and i got a cut in the main tread after perhaps 6 rides. Sharp rock ?
The cut was 12 wide and forced me to pitch the tire, while still new.
Never got a flat on this trail, in 3 years of riding there, prior to this.
That being said i've purchased a replacement for it.
They were on sale, which helped me make up my mind.
Have not installed it yet.
I purchased a more robust set of tires (harder thicker) while waiting for the replacement to come.

All likes, fast, quite even at 35 mph, smooth trouble free tire. I've had great results with Michelin tires on my trucks and cars, and now my bikes, thanks.

I put these on my 15 year old Specialized Street Stomper, filled them to the max 73 pounds and WOW!! Super fast and super easy to pedal at speed, and excellent handling, even on wet pavement and still maintain a nice ride. And they actually work pretty good in mild off road conditions such as a dry hard dirt fire road. They flat out blow away ANY other street tire in that size range. They look really cool on the bike too. Can't say enough about 'em!!
