Love the hookworms! Ride fast and smooth, great grip, and they look tough!

I should have ordered larger tubes to go with these tires, I can't find any locally, but so far the skinny tubes are working fine, but that was my fault !

I run these on my mid drive electric commuter, have done so for the past 4 years. Great tire, low rolling resistance and great grip!

I put these on an old 26 inch mt bike. They reasonable well. They are huge, steering geometry is a little bit affected due to size but overall better than the knobbies they replaced.

These tires are really great on traction and rolling much easier than knobby tires. Couldn't be happier.

Works great as a cruiser tire or asphalt downhill tire with plenty of traction.

Good amount of rubber on these making them more rigid than kevlar which is a bonus if your riding surface is less than perfect. They are fat, so portly they had to be deflated to squeeze them past the break pads so probably a better fit for a disk break setup. They are a bit on the heavy side and with all that rubber on the road it takes a lot more to get going but once your up to speed the ride is beach cruiser smooth.

I put these on an old mountain bike that I use with fenders for bad weather days. I use between 26 to 30 psi on them and they ride great. No flats after 250 miles of broken glass and trash strewn sidewalks. They are a little bit slower that my 700x35 tires on my hybrid bike but much more comfortable. Loose sand shoulders are no problem. Gravel no problem either. They have very good traction on grass and dirt. I was using Bontrager Hank tires but they slide all over and ride hard, even when running lower pressures. The Hookworms also ride very quiet. My commute is an hour and one half each way and I just might not switch back to my hybrid bike once the rains stop.

I put these on a rigid mountain bike frame to smooth out the ride. They have good traction but are a little bouncy with lower inflation pressures. I ended up adding a Rock Shox fork because they didn't improve the ride compared to my origional tires over bumps as much as I expected. They ride good over all surfaces other than sand and ice. I have not experianced any flats yet with the Hook Worms although on my long commutes I use another bike equipped with Schwalbe Marathon Plus tour 700C tires. I think using the proper inner tube is critical for these and other large volume tires. (and put alot of baby powder inside the tire to keep the tube from sticking to the tire causing tears.)

Great all around urban grip. Can run a low pressure for decent dirt traction or trials. Grips well at higher pressures for hard hits and landings. Very durable tire. Real predictable traction in all conditions. Has a good ride quality and great shock absorbing quality. Big tire so make sure you got room in frame and fork. Running it on an urban assault bike.

I have a Surly Instigator that I built nine years ago. Just gave it an over all upgrade. Took off the old Dirt Jumper shock fork, knoby tires, and replaced it with a rigid instigator fork and threw on a pair of Hookworms. The bike feels very different. I feel like I'm in junior high on my old SE Assassin, looking for every curb obsticle to jump, riding wheelies and doing 180s. A great tire for tearing up the streets. Go rigid and through a pair of these tires on and you'll feel like a BMX bandit again!

Love these things, although they're a tight fit on my '11 OM Flyer, the 'Worms just plain make it look tough. Since I'm an old guy who never had a BMX bike in his youth, I don't really do a lot of tricks on 'em. Simply put, I just cruise and these are perfect for such activity. Like others have mentioned, they are heavy tires, but what's a few ounces? Once you get these suckers rolling, they'll keep on doing it (hangin' with Mr. Newton) and the tread pattern is great for almost anything. Buy and pair and try 'em yourself.

The 26x2.5 is heavy, but the carcass is so thin!! Especially as you transition from the contact area to the sidewall. Maxxis would do well to add a thin kevlar layer for protection. The construction seems extremely light duty, except the very center of the thread area. Even with liners I would never ride these in a remote, risky or dark (hard & unsafe to repair) area.

I use these on my commuter bike and like the look and comfort. The large diameter (2.5) gives a smooth ride and absorbs rough roads. More forgiving than performance road tires for junk on the side of the road. The down side is puncture resistance. As they get worn you get more flats, similar to road race tires. Better road comfort than thick skinned commuter tires. Can't beat the fat tire look.

When I first got these tires they were awesome. Then they became flat magnets. They get flats very easy. They have an awesome ride. They look nice. They corner nice. They ride off road really well. But for urban riding they are disappointing due to how easy they get flats. As cool as they look I wont be buying these again. A bike is useless if it is flat all the time.
I wrote the manufacture suggesting they make a flat resistant model with a Kevlar lining or something, but no response.

These tires were mounted on my hardtail mountain bike to ride around Richmond, VA downtown. There are potholes and cobblestone roads everywhere and this massive tire eats it up and is hungry for more! It handles tarmac and dirt trails and jumps equally well. The only time I ran into trouble was going through rocks. The smooth sides make it slip in gravel and rock. Besides that this is my favorite tire I've yet used.

When I first got these tires I was happy. They handle well take turns nice except when it is wet. They are nice and wide so they go off road nice when you decide you want to go on a trail. They look nice. The bad is they get flats very easy. The manufacture should redesign the inside of the tire with a protective shield.
I use my bike as daily transportation. Traffic here is crazy. It is usually faster to get around on bike. I do about 25 to 75 miles a day. I have had these tires for about a year. I have bought countless tubes. I have about 50 dead tubes. The only reason I have not replaced them yet is because I am poor. I am here today to replace them with the Panaracer Ribmo tires 2.0 x 26. I have no idea if they are good but the reviews look promising. i prefer a wide slick for dual purpose riding.
These tires are really only for looks, if you put them to the test you will be disappointed.
