I bundled up last week for a long ride in the warm Connecticut weather. Yes it was warm in CT in January 60 degrees in fact. Knowing the cold sneaks up here quickly, I set out in Gore-Tex, Mavic Thermals & my new shoe covers. Although it was warm, it was quite windy with bright skies & patches of cloudy rain. Nothing bothered me, I comfortably hammered out mile after mile with the perfect body temp. By the time I turned around to come home the 60 degree weather was GONE, as the temp quickly dropped I enjoyed the added layer on my feet which are usually freezing by the end of a Winter ride. So far so good I really like the Louis Garneau Shoe Covers.

Good basic bootie. Like the generous openings on the bottoms so your cleats do not snag .

I tried them in the mid to upper 40s. My feet were comfortable. For mountain bike shoes, get a larger size. I had to use an older pair of shoes which are slightly smaller on the outside than my newer, usual shoes. However, great value and I love the Velcro closure, rather than a zipper.

For the price, these definitely keep my feet toasty. Beware the seams near the bottom of the velcro though, they will probably start ripping shortly after purchase just through getting them on and off.

Is all I need to say about theses covers

Well made, prefer zipper closure in the rear over side Velcro.

Keeps the feet warm and dry

Easy on and off. Toasty warm for those days when 2 pairs of socks aren't enough.... good for rides below 32 degrees. Have not used them in the rain so don't know if you'll stay dry.

These will help to keep your feet dry and comfortable on cooler days, or days when the roads are wet.

I purchased these booties to use on my MTB flat pedals because the picture of the bottom of these booties looked as though it could survive the rough pins on my pedals. Indeed, they have preformed admirably after a dozen outings. All other waterproof/winter-proof booties I have owned (many!) have always fallen apart because they are made only for clipless pedals and not MTB flat pedal. These booties are quite tight to get on (I ordered an XL pair for my 46 Shimano flat pedal shoes), but can just stretch enough to work. Clipless type shoes are narrower, so XL would probably fit larger shoe sizes in the clipless variety. The booties them selves work just fine..not totally waterproof on extremely hard rains and longer rides (2-3hr), but nothing I have owned is totally waterproof under such conditions. I gave these a four star rating only because I wish they were a bit larger for the type of shoes I wear. I am very glad that I purchased these booties and would gladly recommend them to any flat pedal, MTB users.

These shoe covers are well designed to be easy to put on and secure with Velcro strips. A nice touch is the design of the cover, making it easy to remove. Once in place these covers do the job of keep one's toes warm in temps below 40 degrees. I ride with non insulated shoes. The covers I got on sale. I have a recreational rider and these covers allow me to ride through the winter days when the temps drop into the 30's.

I use these down to 20 deg F and, along with heavy wool socks my feet don't freeze.
That being said, the Velcro closure is a weak link. It holds tight enough, but doesn't meet up towards the heel, leaving a hole.
