The best helmet for you probably the one that's so comfortable to wear that you forget that it's doing its job of protecting your most important body part. Comfort is a matter of good ventilation and good fit. The ventilation part of the equation is independent of the wearer. This helmet is very well ventilated and yet does not produce excessive or annoying wind noise on fast descents.
Good fit is a matter of how well the helmet adjusts to your unique noggin. Whether a helmet works for you will largely depend on the shape of your head. However, it also depends on the adjustments that the helmet provides (including vertical adjustment, which this helmet provides), achieving that adjustment in a way that distributes the pressure relatively evenly, the ease of achieving the adjustment that works for you, and how well the adjustment holds. On all these latter, rider-independent counts, this helmet scores very high.
On my scale, the M size ticks above the 285 g stated. But it's still below 300 g. My head is very happy. And I greatly doubt if it would be happier were I to be so foolish as to take a 15 g divot out of it.
This helmet handily meets the forget it's on criterion for me. That was not the case for any of the more-commonly available helmets from the larger, better-known makers.

I bought an original Diamond helmet about 6 months ago, and was so pleased I bought the Diamond II. However, the newer helmet seems to creak a lot (the plastic at the back is a bit thinner, perhaps to shave some weight, but the creaking is coming from there). Also, I find the Diamond I and II pads are thin...the helmet is more comfortable for me when I use the replacement Quartz pads in them.

We bought two these helmets for our tandem rides. About 2 months after getting the helmets we had a very bad crash and both my husband and I hit our heads in the crash. The helmets saved our lives. The helmets were damaged but our heads were not. We contacted Louis Garneau and they sent us two brand new replacements. We could not be more satisfied with the helmets.

I have been looking for a sleek, low profile helmet. I was watching this on your Closeout post and bought it. It came with a light that attches to the helmet dial, a nice tough. Great helmet at a great price, no complaints
