Love the comfort of Keen in a bike shoe. Love em!

Keen had a stellar reputation for wide feet individuals until they changed recently. This is not the same last as the previous iteration (the Austin) which had a very generous fit in the toe box. The Springwater is a medium fit.
Well made apparently somewhere else than the Austin. I returned these and found a close out on the Austins.

I purchased Keen cycling sandals last year and really liked them so I decided to try the shoes. When they arrived I was a bit disappointed that they didn't look as cool as I thought they would. After riding a couple hundred miles in them, they are my favorite shoe for road and mt. biking. These are the most comfortable bike shoes I've ever owned. Their sizing is accurate and they are well built. I recommend them to all my biking friends.

I had a wonderful pair of cycle-touring shoes purchased in 2001 that finally just wore out and were no longer made. Since then, I have been looking for a suitable replacement I wanted comfort on the bike and around camp and with sight-seeing. A lightweight pair of stiff-soled mountain biking shoes I bought for a cross-country ride were punishment embodied in a shoe, and came to be called my Cruel Shoes and haven't been worn since...so it was back to the drawing board. I wish that I had happened upon the Keens prior to my trip two years ago. They are truly comfortable, and seem well-made. No hot feet so far. They will likely be my first choice when the weather cools and I switch from the sandals I am using back to a covered shoe. The fit is good for a wide foot, and SPDs are nicely recessed, so no click-clack or slipping of metal on a hard smooth walking surface either.
