This helmet looks great on my small-ish head. Most do not, so this one's a big win for vanity! More importantly, it always feels secure, comfortable, and doesn't move around on my noggin unless I want it to. I was surprised to find how good it is at cooling the noggin as well you wouldn't know it by looking at it, but ventilation is excellent. In fact, on my very first ride with it, ventilation was obviously improved over my previous normal helmet. Aero? I can't really speak to that. Maybe I'm the tiniest bit faster, but I bought this helmet for comfort, safety, and vanity. As advertised, the helmet is highly adjustable, and the leather chin strap is definitely a nice touch.
So why only 4 stars? Glasses. Neither pair of my sunglasses will fit securely and comfortably with the helmet. The arms seem to fight with the rear cradles. I'm not the only one to experience this problem. However, I've found that if I adjust the cradles just so, I'm able to wedge the arms through them - and that's the only way to prevent my glasses from slipping down my nose. This in turn makes a very comfortable helmet somewhat less so. So that's a bummer, but for me, the benefits of this helmet still outweigh that single (but significant) drawback.

The Kask Protone is my favorite helmet not only for its looks but for the great comfortable fit that I get. It's lightweight and doesn't ride down on my sunglasses like some other helmets. I also like the assortment of colors available. Thankfully, I haven't tested its crash-worthiness but if the pro teams trust it, I will too. The only drawback is that it's priced higher than many other helmets.

The padding and leather chin strap make for a comfortable fit that's better than my previous Giro. Ventilation is decent for an aero helmet but I still get more sweat dripping into my eyes/glasses than I did with my Giro. All in all a good helmet

The Protone feels light on my head, even on longish rides (3 hours), and is very easy to fine tune for the perfect fit. Chinstraps are fixed at the Y-juncture below the ears, so you don't have to dial that in to seat the helmet evenly on your head. Ventilation is great, I admittedly have not yet ridden with the Protone in temps above 75F, but with ample vents and air flow I expect it to perform well in summer heat. The Protone's profile is sleek, which presumably cuts down on aero drag (caveat I haven't seen any data to support this so take that feature with a large grain of salt). Materials and workmanship are impressive, as are small details like the leather chinstrap.
One drawback, which may or may not be significant the retention system takes a lot space around the back of your head, and can interfere with sunglass placement. I've tried the helmet with three different types of sunglasses (Oakley, Rudy, and Tifosi) and their temple ends all bump the Protone's retention hardware. Mildly annoying to me, but not a deal breaker.
I ordered a medium Protone and it fits perfectly by itself or with a thin cap. It does not fit, however, with my wool winter caps. Based on my other helmets, I'd say the Protone runs slightly smaller than Giro, POC, and Lazer. If your dome is in the 57-58cm range, you should size up to a large.

this helmet is worn/designed/tested by team sky. Finally available to the retailers in my size
Tried out over 115kms in coolmild conditions with climbs and descents and proved to be what it claims
The design is more rounded than traditional helmets and no mushroom look
The venting is very effective and the padding and fit system fantastic
It simplifies the adjustments to me.......very easily
Minimal noise when riding and of course picked it up for a steal

My older Protone needed a "freshening up". BTD had cool matt black and said why not. Typical 5 star service and delivery from you guys had my helmet at my door in a flash. Was pleased to find Kask had improved on some minor weak points. Amazing product and amazing service from biketiresdirect.com.

Most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. Great price too. Kask Protone is now my Go TO helmet.

Overall I like the KASK helmet, reasonable weight, very well vented, but be careful on the sizing. I am a very medium sized guy but the medium helmet was almost too small on me. I had to max out the sizing adjustment ring to get an acceptable fit. Straps are well located, attachment buckle is on the side where it does not touch your head, so that is a very nice feature.

Out of my 6 top brand helmets this is my favorite. Great fit, better straps than other helmets, plenty of air flow in the Texas heat.

Love this helmet.
I've always been fearful of buying helmets online as there is generally a round or oval config for the shape...Kask's design is amazing. No issue and a dialed-in fit every time.

I love the fit. Very adjustable. The leather chin strap is very nice. I have taken a hard wreck in one and got my clocked cleaned pretty good but no concussion. Great helmet.

Nicely made, but the large size maxed out at 62mm. In this helmet I need at least a 63mm! So had to return it!

The first thing I noticed when I put this helmet on was how light it was and how it fit perfectly to my head. The chin strap is extremely comfortable. Out on the road I was struck by how quiet and how well ventilated the Protone really is - you totally forget you have it on. This is one extremely well engineered, aerodynamic helmet. It looks fantastic and doesn't interfere with my sunglasses at all. My only issue is the price. I got it on sale but still it's very pricey hence the value rating. If you can afford it, get this helmet. It's a quantum leap forward from my old Giro Atmos helmet.

I race with this helmet, as do many others this season. Upon trying it, I immediately understood the Protone's popularity. It's very sleek (looks great from any angle) and lightweight, and the tightness adjustment system feels like it's cradling the lower back of your head - a reassuring factor as you're cornering at speed. Very happy with this helmet.
