I use the helmet for everyday training and some racing. It is very light, comfortable, and as advertised, you can forget you are wearing it. This is the best fitting helmet I have tried to date and at the sale price an excellent value.

Primary use of this helmet is for road cycling. Often times traveling at speeds over 45 mph. I am a longtime Giro customer and safety is my first priority. Giro hit a home run with the Aeon in safety, ultra light weight, cooling, aerodynamics, and styling. Biketiresdirect delivered on price and on time without any problems. The helmet is incredibly light weight. It's vents air flow well. For the price of the helmet I feel the padding damages too quickly especially along my forehead. I recently was riding and my front tire was going flat and I didn't know it when I made a quick tight turn and went down so quickly me head and side of my hand holding the handlebars took the complete impact. The helmet saved my head but I still suffered a concussion. The helmet was slightly dented and at first inspection I thought the foam was un damaged but a week later I noticed a crack in the foam close to the impact zone. I believe it's a great helmet and the best part was last week BTD had a sale on the Aeon and I got a new replacement for [$]. I would definitely recommend this helmet to anyone but I know the price can be prohibitive.

I got the Aeon for primarily fitness riding in South Florida. The summers here are unrelentingly hot and muggy. Any improvement is a godsend. The helmet is very light, very comfortable and has excellent airflow. I recommend it highly.

Yes that was my reaction because I didn't feel wearing one. I bought this helmet to replace my Prolight. This one fits way better. The prolight seemed to be a bit narrower side to side, so if I need to wear some sorts of head warmer in the winter, it felt very tight. While the Aeon is about 14 grams heavier than Prolight in size M, I feel the the Aeon even lighter due to its comfortable fit. And the loc 5 retaining system is great, it creates a comfortable snug fit and can be adjusted on the ride using 2 fingers. My only concern is the durability of the loc 5 system, it's a very minimal design for light weight so I don't know if it last for the life of the helmet, but only time will tell and I hope I'm wrong on these. Highly recommended.

I was looking to get some better ventilation and perhaps shed a few ounces. This helmet does both nicely. The latest version of the Roc Loc is a nice improvement. Perhaps it is just me, but the padding in the top is not as comfortable as in my previous helmets (Giro pneumo, Bell Volt), which knocks it down to 4 stars. The straps are also ridiculously long, so plan on trimming after you fit the helment.

I know it sounds crazy, but the first day, I walked around my garage a couple of times looking for it - only to realize it was on my head!
I bike in TX, so cooling is important. The air channel designs provide plenty of air flow across the scalp.
Be sure to measure your head since the Roc Loc mechanism has limited play.

The Giro Aeon Helmet is super lightweight well vented. My sweat does not rolled down into my sunglasses no more.....That is very important because with my old helmet i was constantly wiping my eyes to be able to see the road. The helmet has a great timeless design ..looks cool.

I've used many Bell and Giro helmets over the past 34 years of cycling. The Aeon is the lightest I've worn and because it sits a bit above the top of your head air flow is excellent keeping me cool. I tested it today on a very humid day and usually my head sweats like crazy. The Aeon kept my head from sweating like it usually does with most other helmets. I didn't even have to wear a skull cap which I usually use to absorb sweat.
The Aeon is great for warmhumid climates. Wearing it during the winter might keep my head too cool. I will find out next winter.

I got this because I was having some neck problems. This helmet is so light you hardly know it is on. It is also extremely easy to adjust.

Excellent helmet, light as a feather on my big head. The new(er) Roc Loc 5 retention system is much, much better than previous models. It fits very well against my shaved head, and its adjustments allow me to wear varying thickness levels of neoprene skull caps underneath when it is cold. And, you will need to wear a skull cap underneath it when it's too cold for you as the air flow through this helmet is phenomenal. I expect this will be a huge improvement over every other previous helmet I have owned come summer (or late spring) here in CA when it's hot. The airflow should help keep my head cool when.
Also, it's far more aero than any other previous Giro or Kali helmet I've owned.

Bought to replace an atmos that was just getting old. Agree with others on the roc loc feeling less substantial, but no issues with adjustability or durability. Great fit and super light.

I have used the Giro Aeon for a few years. I thought it was time to update to a more recent helmet, so I tried the Kask Mojito and the Giro Synthe MIPS, the latter being the newest top-of-the-line from Giro. Both were at a huge discount after Thanksgiving so it was a good occasion.
- Kask Mojito fits nice, but the leather chin strap lacks flexibiliry. Also people mention that this helmet makes them sweat a lot, and I tend to sweat a lot, so this was a negative point
- Giro Synthe MIPS fits nice, and it has the latest technology.
HOWEVER both newer models weigh 60g more than the Giro Aeon (size L). My Giro Aeon is 250g, both Kask Mojito and Giro Synthe MIPS weigh 310g. This is 'only' 60g, but it is more than 20% heavier, and this makes a HUGE difference. It makes me notice the helmet much more on my head. So latest technology or not, I'm going to stay with the Giro Aeon for the time being.

I use this helmet for both road and mtb.... the last Giro I owned probably saved my life in a 25 mph road bike crash. Helmet was badly damaged but saved me from serious head injury. I place my trust in Giro helmets.
