Just finished a 1,050 mile trip with my new Edge 830 and I was wowed. Battery life is incredible with 70% off the charge left after a 109 mile ride, including interacting with a Varia radarlight unit, remote and D-fly. The higher resolution screen is much clearer than older Edges. Touch screen works well and it's consistent linking with my phone via bluetooth is much more reliable than the 820 had been. Responds automatically to the buttons on my Domane SLR7 hoods to change screens forward and backwards. Ride with GPS routing directions were perfectly presented. The only thing I wish was different is the alarm which indicates someone is moving your bike when you're at a pit stop of getting coffee. It does show on your phone but is so quiet bystanders wouldn't pay any attention. It is apparently not adjustable. Overall, far and away the best computer I've ever owned. Love it!!

The Garmin 830 is super easy to set up and use. Has all the features most riders would need and more. Navigate to an address and hill climb details are just two of the many useful features. Touchscreen works great. Note that the screen is on the small side.

Bought computer on a recommendation from a friend. Did a lot of research as well as to size features battery life etc. computer works great and was relatively easy to set up. Not as intuitive as older models and not as easy to set up pages as previous models is my only gripe! Mapping capabilities, features and connectivity to Garmin connect was seamless overall good purchase very happy

I had a Garmin 520 previously, multiple buttons to navigate functions. The 830 is much more user friendly, touch screen navigation is far more intuitive. The only negative I have in countered so far is that it is easy to delete something unintentionally, so take your time..

road and gravel use. Computer boots up much quicker and has much longer battery life per charge than my garmin 520.

This bike computer does it all! I use it to mtn bike and road bike. I also use it for triathlon races. Syncs perfect with my 945 LTE watch. Garmin offers so many features, and constantly stays up to date with technology

Great GPS if you want to stay in the Garmin ecosystem and not want to have a touch screen (although initial setup is slow due to the button-only interface). Really liked to new popularity coloring on the maps and the built in TrailForks integration.

The emergency contact feature is good. Very sensitive and loud. Surprised my wife the time I had a minor fall and it alerted her. I didn't warn her of the feature and she was quite worried. I had to do some convincing over the phone that I was OK and didn't need a rescue. I longer battery life is why I chose to upgrade.

The screen is very easy to read (screen set up with speed, cadence, HR, gradient, clasped time, time of day). Initial setup a bit tricky but once set up no problems. The big flaw is that it is a very delicate device. Had it for a month and it slipped from the hand and hit the floor. Completely dead. If Garmin won't repair it I'll get another - and put a silicon case on it. Would be a five star review if it was not so delicate.

The Garmin Edge 830 mountain bundle really provides great ergonomic access to data and navigation without jeopardizing safety. Love the ability to move through screens without letting go of the bars. Pairing the sensor is a breeze and the wireless setup is clean as can be.

Fantastic product significantly larger screen with similar footprint than the 530 and far better screen resolution, this thing is amazing. Gifted 2nd one to Pop for his 70th bday. I have mine paired with rear blinkie radar and front light, all purchased from Western, could not be more pleased with the product and the latter with the shop.

So far so good after a month. No problem using my 4yr old speed/cadence sensor & quickly find GPS. Customizing data screens can be tedious but you get use to it. Nice to be alerted that a sharp curve was ahead. Can't wait to get a smart trainer to pair to and re-ride a previous course.

Like Garmin connect where there are lots of data screen options. The computer is fast, though the touch screen doesn't work as well in rain or sweat. Wish Garmin use the phone for input more like Wahoo.

I have used the 520 for years and love the simplicity and "BUTTONS". I hear a lot of issues with touch screen. With gloves or cold fingers i can't be messing with touch screen. The only reason to swith to 520 plus was for the Varia integration.

I had the 520+ and it did everything I needed so I didn't think I needed to upgrade, well I love biking and this I really enjoy my Garmin and Garmin 830 is better in a lot of ways that I hadn't really thought, it's fast, it's works better in so many ways, I like the touch screen. Anyway: if you aren't sure if you need to upgrade, umm I was more than pleasantly surprised and so glad I did.

I was just looking for an upgrade from the garmin edge, and this checks all boxes. I'm not into power management or heart monitoring, just more things that ain't gonna make me faster. Just train. Still need to discover the potential of this like using the nav for set routes or races. No issues, battery life is good. Would recommend to others.

I use this product to record my rides. The unit is dependable and has good battery life. It seems overly-complicated (I prefer Lezyne's fewer buttons) and things like backlight and switching screens can be cumbersome. The screens are customizable, but depending on how many fields you're displaying re-sizing a particular field or fields may not be available. Other than that, the unit works well.

I've been using a Garmin 820 for years, and learned to accept the glitchy touch screen sensitivity, display limitations and cluttered look of many of the pages. The 830 represents a vast improvement on all counts - it is simply a joy to use. Even the charging port cover is more robust!
