I bought this winter boots recently and followed other's advice to buy a size smaller than I was used to - and that advice proved to be right on the money. I wear a size 45 Shimano shoe so I bought the 44 and it fits well. One other thing, the cleats seem to sit a bit further forward than I am used to but well within the range of what I can get used to.

Very rainproof- have always worn booties and usually experience some wet socks from the bottom of the shoe. The R5 stayed dry even in terrible weather. Toes still get a bit cold in the 30's but not sure if it's the shoes or my damaged feet

I bought both road and mountain versions of this shoe. Your feet stay warm and dry, no vents on the bottom means water can't get in. The fastening system isn't perfect but not bad either.

I have always had a problem with cold feet on cold days until I purchased these shoes. I tried all the tricks but I could not stay warm. Took me a ride to get used to the high top style but experienced no issues. Would definitely recommend these. Also got them at a great price.

I like the shoes, including the fit and finish. They definitely are warm. Can't wear for very long at one time though because they're a bit narrow for me.

use this on cold wet days in New England. freezing to 22F, moderate wool socks and you are fine. Spray means nothing to these and the closed bottoms keeps water out from that direction as well. NO overbooties used yet - but if I enture out in teh single digits, i think I will go that way.

Very nice job Fizik! Great stiff lightweight road shoe. The speed lacing system works well, easy to get on and off. I have not tried in a full on rain storm, but I am confident they will keep the water out. These do run big, I usually get a 46, Sidi or Specialized. I got the 45 and they fit perfect!

Plenty warm down to mid-20's, comfortable and typical Fizik quality. Must have if you are into riding in the cold.
