Use for Commuting and Weekend rides. So far, I'm extremely pleased with the performance of these tires. On par with Gatorskins, but more supple on the road. I usually put in about 4K a year, so I'm very interested to see how they hold up for the rest of the year.

This is essentially the same tire as the 4000S, same casing, same rubber, but two not one layer of continentals puncture protection strip. So if you can tolerate 25 grams more rubber and puncture protections this is the tire for you. Save yourself a few buck and go with this one. I weight 170 and get the best ride feel with a 23 mm front and 25 mm back both inflated to 100 psi on 21mm internal with rims.

I picked up a pair of these to try as a daily training tire. I generally like continental products, but didn't want to always use my expensive tires for daily training. These have fit the bill nicely. Good wear and puncture resistance. I did get the 25 mm versions and have really liked those. So far they have held up great for about 1000 miles of use. I have only had one puncture and it was a pinch flat as I hit a hole in the road that was hidden in the shadow of a tree. So, not really a fault with the tire, just my own fault.

To be fair, I was looking for a not-very-expensive tire that wore fairly well. The tire fit the bill. I've ridden on it for the rear wheel for 1500 miles and it wears well. However, since it's a wire bead, changing the tire onto the rim is difficult to say the least. I've changed many tires, and this was one of the most difficult to put on the rim. I'll not buy a wire bead tire again.

These tire are replacing my old Gatorskins. I tend to wear tires out quicker than average so I decided to go with a less expense tire. So far, I am really happy with the choice. No flats and a nice ride.

Great product for the price! I was mulling over much more expensive tires but decided on these and am very happy with them. I've got about 300 miles on them so far with absolutely no wear showing yet. Confidence inspiring grip even at high speeds, tough enough to ride the gritty roadside without puncturing. If you're not actually racing then these are perfect

Use on a daily basis. We have a fare amount of glass & trash on our roads. I've used other tires that stood up better then this tire.

I checked so many reviews before I bought these tires that I thought something must have gone terribly wrong. I bought two of these tires in 25c foldable. I put on of the them in the front of my bike and got 5 flats in the first 200 miles. I figured I must have received a faulty batch and so I pulled out the other tire that I bought and placed it in the front, two flats later and gashes that the me see the thread under rubber I am buying another tube just to get home and throw out this crap tire. I hate them! I used Continental Super Sport Plus tires before these and never once in over 2.5K miles and over six months of riding got a flat.

Excellent tire, does not puncture easily, rolls well. Slightly hard feel but worth it as there are very few stops to fix punctures.

These tires feel very nice on my weekend rides and commutes to work.
No issues with flats since I've had it on over the last month or two.
I think it has to be one of the lightest tires you can get in this price range so it has that going for it.
The only thing I'd add to make it 5 star would be reflective sidewall for nighttime rides home from work.
Having Grand Prix in the name makes me feel faster!

Sunday rides in southern california over good and not so good roads. No issues so far. Tire is much softer than the gatorskins I used before. No flat so far. I used the 25 version on all the tires I use for more comfort and durability. I do recommend these tires if you are on a budget but still a decent level of performance.

Given Continental's reputation, I'm sure I just happened to purchase a defective pair of these tires. For whatever reason, the front tire didn't want to stay on the rim. After a two minute descent, I began to get a hop in the front end. Pulled to the side of the road and boom! I've been mounting tires for years and know what's required to make tires and tubes seat nicely on rims. Wheels are Mavic Ksyrium ESs and I've never had issues with other tires so the wheels aren't the problem. Exchanged these for a set of 4000Ss with no issues so far.

Before I got a set of Conti Grand Prix, I didn't think tires mattered that much. The difference a good tire makes became obvious soon after I pedaled away on the new rubber. The Grand Prix is called the bread and butter of the Continental line, and buttery smooth describes the ride pretty well. I made better time going faster with less effort as well-and I'm pretty sure it wasn't just in my head. The Grand Prix is durable too. I've bombed down gravel roads and through pothole ambushes and emerged unscathed. Great performance and durability (bang) for the money (buck).

The continental Grand Prix is a great item, good solid road holding and haven't any flats yet, good all round tire

Andrew's review from 2009 is for the old version of this tire, not the updated version. The updated version is still handmade in Germany (unlike many of Conti's less expensive tires) but now incorporates Black Chili and other improvements. It's super durable - I just took one off my bike 5200 miles, all on the rear wheel, with zero flats. The tread is pretty much squared off, but there is still some rubber left. Ride is good, although not as supple as a GP 4000S (my favorite, but a lot more expensive, especially on a per-mile basis), grip is good, rolling resistance seems pretty decent. Measured weight is 222gm in 700x23. What's not to like, especially at the price?

I wanted to try a new tire, and I decided on these cause you pretty much can walk into any bicycle shop in Southern California and buy them. My previous tire was Hutchinson Intensive 2, but I had to order them from the internet. The ride and handling on the Continentals is very good. My biggest complaint and reason for the two star rating is because of the fit of the tire. These are the most difficult tire to put on that I have ever used, and even harder to get off. I have also noticed a slight inconsistency in size with the tires I have purchased of this brand and model. This is in regards that it was so difficult to put on. First time I had to change a flat, it was incredibly difficult, and I broke a tire lever in the process. Luckily my friend was with me, and I used his levers to get the tire off. I have decided to go back to Hutchinson. I do not want to spend the extra 10 to 15 minutes of time on the side of the road fighting with getting the tire off just to switch a flat. Not to mention it is incredibly frustrating. On the upside, if you are ever worried about getting a blow out while going 40mph downhill, this tire will absolutely will not come off in that situation.
