This tire has been around for ever, but don't let its old age fool you. This screamer was at the top of the podium not to long ago. Great rolling resistance and a formidable amount of grip keep this classic competitive with some of today's fastest tires. If you are trying to get that classic look, or save a few bucks with out sacrificing performance this is the tire. So you might ask, was the Grand Prix just a tire that was ahead of its time? I think so, and maybe its even got a few years of glory left.

The best thing about this tire is the durability. I cannot remember the last flat I had.

sure, there are lighter, fancier, more supple tires, that'll last a looooong time and feel great, corner great, ride fast, and comfortable...all from Conti also...but for the money, these are the joint. rode 'em all over the iconic climbs of France last summer and then all over NYC and they're still crankin'. the only other tires are Conti's.

I ordered a set of the now-discontinued colored versions (orange) and had ridden them about half the season. They installed very easily on Mavic Open Pros with no tools and felt very responsive on the road. However, the rear tire seemed to be wearing rather quickly (I'm no lightweight, but I was inflating to the recommended 120 psi), so I rotated the tires. Then I enjoyed about 60 carefree miles until suffering one of the infamous sidewall blowouts that you read about in the bike forums, fortunately while going uphill. Perhaps this issue has been corrected in more recent models, or maybe this is why they were on sale for such a good price in the first place. But no matter the price, if the sidewall may blow out at any moment, it can't be worth it . . .

Great tires & great service... very pleased

I have logged a little over 1000 miles on these tires and they are great! Low price, roll smooth, competitive weight (mine weighted 232 grams for 23mm), corner well, no flats yet, easy to install. I really like that they have wear indicator too.
Not sure if these are pure race tires, but for the cyclosportive or grand fondo crowd it's hard to beat these tires.

These tires were a very nice upgrade from my old set that came with my roadbike. I don't ride in the wet so, I can't provide any feedback on wet grip but they hold up very well even on the smoothest of bike trails. A bit pricey (for me) but if they continue to perform I'll stick with them when it's time to replace.

I have not used these tires long enough to offer a fair assessment. I've only put about 400 miles on them, rainy season, not too much riding so far this year. Value wise, probably hard to beat. I find there is always a trade off with tires. Some last forever but are harsh riding. Tires that ride nice use a softer rubber compound and wear out faster. I used to use Conti Ultra 2000's, which they stopped making. The Grand Prix is probably one notch up, but I don't think they will last as long. If I can squeeze 1000 miles out of these tires I will be happy. Quality wise they are top rate tires. a tad difficult to mount. I'm not really loyal to a brand of tire, I usually buy what is on sale. But next around around I will probably order these. Mainly they ride great on my lousy chip sealed roads.

After years of riding continental 4000s, I found the Grand Prix to be more durable at a better price with indistinguishable performance. The extra longevity of this tire is well worth the slight difference in weight over the lighter 4000.

Great tire! Ridden in the northwest, lots of rain, lots of dirty roads. Used for training, a little bit of racing, and tons of commuting. Never had any cuts or slices to the casing. Never had any punctures due to road debris.

I just got these tires and they seem fine so far, but I wanted to warn others about the wire bead vs the folding bead. I bought the wire bead first, as they are about [$] per tire cheaper, but could not get them installed on my Mavic Ksyzium rims without pinching the tube. They were extremely tight and difficult to get over the rim. After several hours and many patches, I gave up and sent them back to BTD and exchanged them for the folding bead. The folding beads installed easily and I am now riding on them. Not enough time or miles for a thorough review yet. I replaced Continental 4000S tires with these, and they seem to work just as well, and will hopefully last longer and be puncture resistant. I think they will be a good tire for the money. At least on certain rims, beware the wire bead. Because of having to spend the money to return the wire bead tires, it lowered my Value Rating.

Have used the following in 25MM Vredestein Fortezza Tri-Comp ($59, plush, fast, cut easy and wear quickly), Schwalbe Ultremo DD ($89, measure around 23mm, VERY durable, fantastic wet grip but feel slowharsh), Schwalbe One V-Guard ($69, plush, fast and wear quickly) and now the Grand Prix which measure just over 25mm, feel fast and smooth, fantastic grip, so far no cuts or sidewall issues over 1K miles, mount easy and at $39 represent the best value I've seen so far. These will be my go to tire for the foreseeable future.

Great feel and low rolling resistance to the Grand Prix. Sidewall is weak resulting in blowouts and cuts. Great service from BTD!!!!

There is nothing not to like about this tire.. I have used several other brands and to date this is my favorite. They out last all the others I have used in the past. They also give my bike a better look on the Comic's.
