This is the last continental tyre I will purchase. I used gp4k clinchers for years, then went to gp5k tubeless which worked alright. You could find them for $65 bucks and Id hope to get 2k miles out of them before too many cuts.
Now to have to purchase a $90 tyre and have it fail and not seal multiple times within the first 1000 miles. Nope. Off to a competitor.

This is a good quality road tire, though kinda pricey. I have used similar Conti clinchers in the past and this is consistent. Being tubeless, I found it rather difficult to install. Had to resort to one of those tire bead lever gadgets you see advertised. Without that, you better have big strong hands.

Love the roll! Smooth, reliable, fast. Can be a little tough to mount the first time but I consider that a good thing.

Got 4200 miles on the last GP 5000 TR rear tire, front looked like it still had quite a few miles left. I would rotate the tires if they weren't so difficult to mount.
Mounting was slightly easier than the GP 5000 TR, but some of that could be due to experience and making sure to do it on a nice warm day after leaving the tire in the sun.

I've been riding and doing most of my own bike maintenance for going on 28 seasons and I've never encountered a tire that was so difficult to mount. In fact, I never got it mounted. I tried both tires on 2 different HED wheels, but no dice. I spoke with the mechanic at my LBS and he said that they are that tight and are near impossible to get on/off. In the end I had to return them.

Frankly, I have given up trying to mount these. A lot of anguish and the effort to mount them even drew blood. What a waste of money!
I am a long time cyclist and not a rookie at putting tires on rims. This is not the first difficult time I've had with Continentals but even though the others were difficult this is the one I finally gave up on. I had to give it one star as zero isn't an option.
Can I have my money back?

Absolutely impossible to mount on Rovals. Literally, will not go on. Tried everything including a tire jack and heating the tire. Took it to LBS; couldn't do it, either. Would give it zero if I could since it's useless.

Best tire made. LIght but thick rubber to prevent punctures. The best tire to get to avoid flats.

These tires are way easier to mount with much less finger damage and swearing the the GP 5000 TLs. I've only ridden a few hundred miles without any issues so far, but clearly not enough to speak to longevity. So far, seems to have a similar ride feel to the previous GP 5000 TL. These tires are very hard to come by. Waited about 4 months for the set.

Easy installation, fastest rolling, and I've had no flats. GP 5000s seems like the default answer for the best road tire.

After 250 road miles they have good grip and roll smoothly

I have been running TL tires now for several years and found the Continental Grand Prix 5000 TL to be the best tire around. Great performance in both training rides and races and peace of mind knowing I am running a great tire. Highly recommend this tire, it may be a little pricey but well worth it.

ENVE approves only hookless rim compatible tires for use on their hookless rims, so I'm glad I can now safely try a GP5000 set. (I know a number of people have gone through the difficulty of mounting the earlier hooked GP5000 tire version on ENVE hookless rims, so these new tires ought to make them much happier too.)

I ride as much as possible and I have had really good luck with the grand Prix 5000's. They roll nice and are comfortable but you can also not be afraid to go fast.

These are the most smooth rolling solid tires I have ridden. Big improvement over the tl. No problem getting them to seat. Ride rival wheels.

Fast rolling, performs well in wet and dry conditions

Got a flat 3 miles into my first ride. Not using them anymore. Nice looking but very poor quality and, definitely, way overpriced.

Absolutely the best. Faster, smoother than other brands. Easy to mount. Couldn't ask for a better tire.

I had a few sidewall blow outs when running below 90psi. Now I use a tube and kevlar for training rides outside. Defeats the whole purpose of tubeless, but having flats is no fun!

The go to tubeless tire for your everyday needs.
