These are the tires I have been using for years and I love them! I used another brand before that I was happy with, but they were a pain in the a$$ to change, especially while out on a ride. The Conti's are great tires. They are fairly puncture resistant, the last a pretty long time (I have actually gotten several thousand miles on a set), and they are easy to take off in case of a flat.

I used to switch to lighter tires for a long ride or race. After several flats in crucial rides, I have decided it is smarter to just stick with my tried and true GP 4000S tires, they are good for 2,500 miles without a flat.

I have these tires on both my touring bike and my road bike. They are tough tires, I find numerous cuts in the tire from road debris but I rarely get flats. I use the 25mm tires and they give a comfortable and fast ride.

These tire perform well but if you are an urban rider, they surely are not worth the trouble of repairing repeated punctures.

Great grip, low rolling resistance, supple ride, good puncture resistance and thread wear.

I put over 3,000 miles on the last Continental Grand Prix 4000S. It is easy to install and the wear indicators provide an idea of how much tread is left on the tire.

I've been on Continentals Grand Prix since 1995. There is no better tire for the combination of performance and puncture resistance. Love them. Racing or training, these get well over a season of miles on them (5000).

I ride long distance and large amount of climbing.

I really like the quality of these tires, tried them on the recommendation of a fellow cyclist. I have over 3700 miles and no flats.

The Continental GP 4000 S II 700C Road Tire is the best road tire available. It has superb grip, rolling resistance, and puncture resistance. It is also very light. It does everything great and does not sacrifice one attribute (grip, weight, etc.) for another.

Road Cycling, best tire ever used.

I purchased these tires ignoring the flat tire reviews over the superior performance reviews. No doubt, these are fast tires but with a HIGH cost - FLAT TIRES! 200 miles 4 flats. I inserted liners - still flat tires. I ride on chip seal roads - never had a problem until now. Going back to Gatorskins!

I ride 250 - 300km a week on roads. I spent more time repairing flats than I did riding. Took the tires off after approx. 2 months of use. I was getting flats weekly (sometimes daily). Only once did I find a reason for the puncture (staple). I replaced them with Gatorskins and haven't had an issue with around 2000 km. on them.

I needed new tires and went the Gatorskin route bec I did not want to worry about flats. They were fine but I could tell how much slower I was. I am training for Ironman NC. So I had long 100 mile plus rides where I was just slow. I had a friend tell me about these tires and I saw they were on sale so I bought them on this site on deal. Best decision I ever made. They are fast! Same route-40 miles, same weather conditions, same time of day and I was 2 mph faster on these tires. Love these tires.

I ride the roads in Washington County, west of Portland OR, and have been doing so for 20 years. I usually get 1-2 flats a year, but never anything that actually damages a tire. That all changed with the GP 4000S.
In the first 70 miles, the rear tire encountered 4 flats, not pinch flats, mind you, but general road debris. The last one tore the tire so bad it needed to be replaced. AFTER 70 MILES. 7 - 0.
Front flats have been extremely rare in my experience. That all changed with the GP 4000S as well. I kept the GP4K on the front, and suffered 3 front flats in the next 350 miles. The last one tore the tire enough to make it unsafe to continue riding it.
I will say that when they stay inflated, they do provide a nice ride. Just keep a spare tube (or 4) and a boatload of patches - you'll need them.

I was going to order 25's from other manufacturer, but knew that 23's from Conti are the same size. They seem to be comfortable and fast. Haven't put on many miles. If you order 25's from Conti, be aware they are almost 28, so check your clearance.

I bought these tires (25c)based on the stellar reviews not just on this site, but every other site I scanned on the web! And, I'm glad I did. I mounted them a week before I rode a 68 mile gran fondo in the rain, and the grip on the wet asphalt was superior to my old tires. Now, a month into riding on them, I will probably not mount anything else.
I know several reviewers have stated that the rolling resistance is a lot less with these tires, and there is even a web site that makes the comparison with other tires httpwww.bicyclerollingresistance.comroad-bike-reviewscontinental-grand-prix-4000s-ii-2014.
For me however, I really didn't notice that as much as I noticed the comfort and vibration absorption. So far I have been keeping them at around 110 psi and they are so much better than the stock Vittoria Diamante Pro Light, 700 x 25c that came stock on my bike and are only 12 grams heavier per wheel (my actual weights, not specs.).
Overall, I would highly recommend this tire to anyone who wants a solid all-around tire. Good grip, no flats (so far), low stated rolling resistance, what's not to like? Buy them.
