These are really great tires. I bought them as a spare set because the price was half off the regular price due to it being the off season.

The GP4000 is my go-to road bike tire. Rolls well and is pretty durable (I generally get 3,000 miles out of each tire, rotating them from front to back and then finished. The tire does suffer cuts on occasion, but then again, what tire doesn't? I've tried some other tires. I always end up coming back to the GP4000, but I wait for it to go on sale at BTD because at list price, or near the list price, it is too pricey!

My favorite tires... their performance is good enough for road races, and this is paired with puncture resistance as good as some of the clunker tires like gatorskins. FYIW for anyone considering 25s vs 23s, I switched to 25s a few years ago and have never looked back!

These tires are the gold standard in road tires. A handful might be lighter, faster or less expensive but youd be hard pressed to find all three. They setup easily on my wide rims and I run them at a low psi for a fast and comfortable ride. Theyre sturdy enough for crushed limestone and the early season potholes in Minnesota.

Biketiresdirect puts these tires on sale at a very low price periodically. These are my go to tires for reasonable wear rates, super fast rolling resistance and a price that cant be beat. The rubber is very supple making 23s feel as comfortable as 25s in other brands

My favorite tire for several years now. Ride quality is great and the durability is fantastic. A previous front racked up 5,800 miles and a paired rear hit 3,000. Catching a BTW sale is a great way to get these tires at a tremendous value.

I think of tires in terms of rolling resistance, grip, puncture resistance, weight, durability, and price. The Continental Grand Prix 4000 S II is my preferred option for an all around tire. The durability, puncture resistance, and price mean it's good enough for training, but the rolling resistance and weight mean it's also good enough for racing. If I could only have one tire, the GP 4000 would be my choice.

I have been using this tire for a couple of years now. I can get about 1000 miles of use from the tire. I wish the tire was a little more puncture proof, riding in Southern Utah they have goathead thorns that wreak havoc on tires.

This is a review of the Conti GP 4000s II.
This tire has it all, wet and dry performance, puncture protection, durability and a good price. This would be my tire of choice for general road bike riding if the Michelin Pro4 Endurance wasn't available for nearly $20 less. The GP4000s II wears better and lasts longer than the Pro4 Endurance but due to the cost difference the Michelin is a bit lower cost per mile.
