After 4 flat tires within a 2 week period, I switched to Gatorskins & have not had a puncture flat since. Now I just put them on all my bikes as soon as I have the opportunity. BikeTires Direct had the best price that I found. I have found the foldable bead tires are easier to change vs wire.

I like the toughness of these tires after putting over 500 miles on them. The only characteristic that concerned me was the weakness of the sidewalls. I had a blowout on the side of the rear at 30mph! That put me on a cautionary note from then on. Would I buy them again, probably not due to the apparent weakness of the sidewalls. They are good for speed and tough as nails on the road facing. The only reason for four stars instead of five. Be cautious on loose gravel.

So far, so good! Gives a good ride and good grip. Haven't gotten a flat from those darn star thistles yet and I had 4 in 4 consecutive rides last summer. I ran over a chunk of metal, got a flat and was pleasantly surprised to find not a dent, ding or chunk out of my tire....just a pinch flat. Don't have that many miles on them yet, but I would definitely buy them again unless something drastic changes in the next few months.

I put a 700x25 on the rear and it lasts a good long time. Performance is pretty good - I really can't tell I don't have a GP 4000 back there. These hold up well on the chip-sealed roads of Benton County, Oregon!

I commute to work 4-5 miles each way and used to get a lot of flats - about one a month over the last six months of my old tires. Since switching to these tires, no more flats.

Have just put on the first one hundred miles but have reached two conclusions. First these are awesome rollers, my downhill speed and coasting outruns are amazing and no comparison to the twenty dollar tires I've used since 1984. I purchased these tires to help alleviate the numerous flats I've been encountering and their initial performance has been excellent. The second conclusion is that you get what you pay for and I will never put anything less than high quality professional grade tires on in the future. If I get improved blowout protection and high mileage from these tires my value rating will go up, this is just an initial quality review. Also biketiresdirect was a good site to purchase from with quick delivery and fair price.

I ride about 10,000 miles a year. I have been riding on Continental Gatorskin tires for years. Several pairs of tires take me through the year. These tires are very durable and have good handling characteristics for the variety of road condition that prevail in the Pacific Northwest. I have converted some of my other club riders to Gatorskins. Definitely a thumbs up for these tires.

After using Michelin Dynamics and Schwalbe Blizzards for the past few years I bought some 700 x 23 Gatorskins last summer. I've got over 2500 miles on them and the rear tire is just now beginning to show a slight bit of wear. They look like they will be good for at least another 1000 miles or more. I inflate to 120 psi before every ride and I have not had any crimp flats even though I hit a lot of rocks and holes. I've only had 2 punctures from pieces of broken glass. I will buy this tire again when I need new ones.

I use these tires for general computing and getting around New York City where there is some rough streets.

Running 700x32 on Specialized Tricross. Speed is the the same as 700x2335 I run on the road bike, but 700x32 handles bad roads and gravel.

I weigh in around 180lbs and half the roads I train on are chip seal. This tire is great for training and is holding up to the left over from winter cinder and gravel on the side of the road. It is wearing much slower than all the other cheap lightweight training tires I've had.

Heard all the hype about these tires and so far, they're living up to it. Wear looks good and handling is superb but I only have about 500 miles on them. In general, I think bike tires are a rip off pricewise as I can buy a car tire for about the same and it's a hell of a lot more rubber, not to mention bike tires usually wear out after about 2,000 miles if not sooner (guess it depends how long you ride the back tire with the ever increasing flat spot).

It might be the roads I'm on or the Michellin ProRace3 tires, but I was getting flats all the time. Looking for a sturdier tire I read the reviews on the Gatorskins. My wife and I have both put on 500 miles and I've had one flat. Huge improvement. They paid for themselves in tubes already.
The downside. They are clearly slower than my other tires. You can optimize inflation levels to get them just right and that helps. I think 110-120 psi is a faster ride, but not the most comfortable.
For me, a great purchase. I ride the Gatorskins day in, day out, then switch to the faster tires when I need to move. The slower tires make you faster when you switch.

I have been using Gatorskin tires for a while now and love their durability and puncture resistance. Unlike some tough tires I have used in the past these also roll well and do great on all terrain. They have held up fantastic in the hills, in wet conditions and on a double century that I completed recently with no tire issues. They are not flat free but I have consistently had fewer problems with these than any other tire that I have used over the last 7 years.

I have been riding the gatorskin for a rough 850 miles so far one flat. It now have good amount of holes in it but it seems to be holding up. Personally I wouldn't pay more than $40 shipped for them. But they are a good no non-sense tire that is a good compromise between puncture resistance, rolling resistance, and high mileage. You can't go wrong with them, but something tells me there is something better out there.

This is the first set of Gatorskins on my road bike and I am extremely pleased. They are very sticky with a softer ride than expected. The traction far exceeds my nerve in cornering, wet or dry. I've put about 200 miles on and have zero complaints.
I've ridden on Armadillo's on my commuter and road bikes with mixed results in durability and they give a much rougher ride. I will never go back since going to the Continentals.

You can't go wrong with the Conti Gatorskins. I've tried other tires but always come back to the Gators.

Continental Gatorskin tires have been my go-to training tire for years. Even the least expensive tire in the Gatorskin line provides great wear and exceptionally good puncture resistance.
I find Bike Tire Direct to be a great source for tires, both for price and available stock.

held up well, ride about 125 miles per week.

I basically purchased these tires to use for training rides as the roads can get pretty nasty with lots of unfriendly Stuff in the road in the late winter and early spring time and I had a tendency to get more flats than normal. I had these tires on a rental bike previously and I noticed then how bullet proof they were! Not the lightest, best handling tires but still not bad ... and when it is chilly, not having to deal with flats is a big bonus!
