I have tried just about every brands chews. I use the shot blocks exclusively for a few reasons. I like the texture, the ease of getting out of the packing with my mouth and squeezing from the bottom. I like all of the flavors but I really like the new salted watermelon.

I kind of oded on these on a recent trip to Italy so I'll back off for a few weeks now but the ginger ale flavor is really fresh. I love ginger and it's got that going for it in spades. Not spicy mind you but definitely like a Canada Dry on a hot day.

Clif bloks are a great way to cut a bonk off!
Review by fort worth biker
A friend offered me a shot block on a ride and I declined due to my food allergies with some Clif products. I subsequently read the label of Clif shot blocks and realized I could consume them. I bought a box of the black cherry. They are easy to pack for a ride, easy to eat, and they provide the energy boost you need when riding 2 hours or more. These are much easier to use on a ride than gel packs.

The blocks were melted together by the time we received them and they were not easy to get out of the wrapper. Not sure if this happened in transportation or in the warehouse.

Easy to use.

These are extremely easy to unwrap, squeeze out, and eat on the go. This is about the only thing I can chew and swallow quickly enough during races. They're great in the heat too, when granola bar type food just sounds repulsive. The 18 box is probably the best deal on these... they're a bit expensive for everyday training, but they're perfect for races. I wish they made some kind of sample/variety pack though.

Great nutritional option on the bike. Love the texture and eatability and they seem to digest very quickly... providing fuel need to continue hammering.

This is for the Margarita flavored Bloks only
Many have a problem with the flavor and it ain't for everyone. I chose the Margarita ones because they have 3x sodium, and I used to have a problem with cramping. As long as I take these on an hourly basis I have no problems at all. (of course you have to stay hydrated as well)
If you've used gels before you'll like not having that sticky mess all over your handsglovesbarsshifters when you use ShotBloks!

What I like best about these is that I can cut off the end of the pack(s) before the ride and slip them in my pocket with the opening up. It literally only take 5 seconds to grab the pack, squeeze one into your mouth, and return it to your pocket. Another good thing is that they are not sticky, so if you do touch them your finger don't get sticky. I even read a review where a guy said he just puts them loose in a pocket. I don't think I'll try that, but these are really tidy compared to gels. They aren't as chewy or sticky as GU Chomps. I really like the black cherry. I've tried a couple other flavors and didn't like them much so if you try another first and don't like it, give the BC a shot before giving up altogether.
Hi,
Thanks for your review! I'm sorry to hear you weren't totally satisfied with your order. Shot Bloks do tend to be a little sticky and can stick together sometimes, but melting is another matter! Please don't hesitate to contact customer service at [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks, Stacia
