Description
Tubus racks are strong, beautiful and lightweight. It's no surprise these German-made carriers have become the basic equipment of any top quality touring or commuting bicycle.
The new Fly Evo is an ultra minimalist rack that's perfect for carrying panniers and light cargo on your road or 'cross bike. The "V" shaped upper maximizes cargo space without too much bulk and a single upper strut attaches to the rear brake bridge, eliminating the need for seat stay rack eyelets.
This Evo model features the new Tubus 3D attachment feet for improved impact absorption and integrated screw attachment. Thin walled 25CrMo4 steel tubes easily tote enough gear to take you across the country - or around the world - without tacking superfluous weight on to your rig. New super light mounting hardware drops a few more grams.
The load capacity for the Fly Evo rack is an impressive 44 lbs (20kg). Weight: 350g without included hardware (67g). Fits bikes with 26" to 700c wheels.
All Tubus racks are backed up by a 30-year Worldwide Guarantee against technical failure. The Fly and other CrMo models are also supported by an additional 3-year Mobile Guarantee against technical failure. This means, within the first 3 years after purchase date, a broken carrier will be replaced and a new one will be forwarded to any place on earth - wherever you are - for free. Please see the Tubus website for warranty details.

This is the third Tubus Fly rack that I've purchased for my bikes. Compared to other racks, this one minimizes material/weight. but still holds significant loads. Installation of the rack is not intuitive ... but once installed properly, it remains rigidly attached.
It took a bit of work to make it fit (516 spacers each side, and had to order the additional brackets to mount to the seatstays), but now it's awesome. I love how low profile and minimal the design is. It looks great on my bike and has been holding my bag to and from work for a couple of weeks now with no issues. The thing is solid!
This is a bare bones rack for those who want to keep it light and looking clean. The rack is very well made and attaches very solidly. The price point is elevated but here is a case where you are definitely getting a premium product. Make sure your mounting points will line up. This is not a very flexible design on the bottom. The upper does give you options, though.
I love this rack. It even fits on my gravel bike with disc brakes (my brake is mounted on the chain stay instead of the seat stay). I love the way it looks and the fact that such a light rack can have such a heavy weight capacity. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. The aluminum rod takes a little more effort to correctly bend than traditional setups, but it looks nice when it's done. My Ortlieb panniers fit right onto the rack without any adjustment necessary.
