Reviews
I bought this to use on my gravel bike so I could have one with repair stuff for gravel tires and another with road tire supplies for when I put road wheels on the bike. Instead of switching tubes and stuff our of one bag when I switch wheels, now I change out the seat pack. Easy peasy. The only nit I have to pick is that, since the pack takes up seat post space, the tail light needs to go on the pack which should provide a surface that faces toward the following traffic. Instead, it faces slightly downward which affects the distance the light can be seen. Tried adjusting the mount to make it more upright without success. Don't have this problem with the model that hangs from the seat rails. Still, it holds everything I need (got the medium for gravel tubes and tubeless stuff, small for road stuff), is well constructed, and makes switching a breeze.
Purchased new Topeak Wedge large to replace a existing Topeak strap bag that I had used for many years. Bag is sturdy, well made and has just the right amount of space for my needs.
Best of all, the Click attachment system is a solid mounting system. Bag is very stable with no sway. About 400 miles in on dirt roads and it has performed flawlessly. Please note, attachment might not work on all saddles due to rail width and seat post clamp location. Tested it on my road bike and I was not able to mount due to the issues above,
Ive owned two wedge bags and the main zip pull has sheared off on both. It appears to be a weak point and there is no way of threading a piece of wire through anywhere in place of the zip pull. The bag is an excellent idea. Does anyone know of another bag which would fit the seat wedge fitting? Thank you.
I've had this bag on my vintage Italian Steel bike for 20 years, never a problem. I just jammed it with everything i could think of for a recent bike tour, weighed it and was stunned it was over a Kilogram! The seat mount is perfect as i never notice the weight. The clip is great when I want to ride without it. I recently bought the strap mount model from BTD for my wife's ebike. The quality of the bag is still pretty great. I like that it is Aero-ish and there are several sized to choose from and the price is very good value.
I've been quite satisfied with the Topeak Aero Wedge Pack. It's large and roomy. Inside I ususally carry a tire tube, 4 oz. bottle of Orange Seal, tubleless plug kit, CO2 cartridge, sunscreen, chain wax, rotor tool, a few hex keys, emergency poncho and house keys... and there is still a bit of room left if I need to jam a few more small items in there.
The quick click fixer is a nice feature. It holds the bag in place with little to no movement while riding. Most of the time I'm unaware that the bag is there.
This bag is not waterproof, but it's quite water resistant. I've been out in pouring rain and the outside of the bag will get soaked, but very little water gets into the bag. The zipper is solid, no issues.
The only thing I don't like so much is the loop for a rear light. You're pretty much restricted to lights that clip-on, and the light tends to hang very low. This could be an issue if you have mimimal clearance between the bag and your rear tire.
Overall, if you need a large, reliable, water-resistant (not waterproof) saddle bag I can definitely recommend the Topeak Aero Wedge Pack.
Big enough to carry 2 tubes / 2 cartridges without looking like a Samsonite. You really get 2 for the price of 1 if you buy the extra mounting clamp for your other bike; the no-bounce, quick release clamp lets you switch between bikes in seconds. Best of all the sturdy bike light strap keeps your rear light in a maximum visibility horizontal position. No rain cover, but if you spray with water proofer you can stop worrying about surprise showers.
I bought this bag because I have a number of vintage steel bikes. I try to ride them all in rotation and moving spares and tools from bike to bike was a chore. With the quick mounting system this is now very easy to move from bike to bike and capacity is good. I would prefer a more vintage look but, hey, this is practical.
I have a road bike, mountain bike, 29er, and Fat Tire Bike. I have used different sized bags on each bike. I am amazed at the comments about the clips breaking. I have never had one break ever and have crashed on off road biking more than once. The only way that the clips could break after 4 or 5 rides is they were not installed correctly or did not fit the seat correctly? My only complaint is the zippers do wear out, but what zipper does not. I am probably guilty of putting too much in them which probably is why the zippers break. Don't change anything on these bags.
Bought this to replace similar saddle bag. Was hoping for one that is easier to access by being able to unclick and remove. My seat post is aero, so not much room to access the rails. Rails too wide for this bags clip system.
I use all of the three different sizes on my bikes. I am a serious rider that puts lots of miles on road bikes, mountain and 29ers. I like the fact that they are so simple to install and just as easy to take on and off your bikes. They are very durable and last a long time. I am amazed at the reviews where people complain that the bag fell off or the clip broke. If the clip broke it was because it was not installed correctly on the bike seat, and if you had the strap attached on your seat post correctly it could not fall off even if your clip broke? If your clip assembly did not fit the seat why would you try to use it? I have 5 different brand of bikes and seats and these fit all of them great. I am very happy with this design and will continue to use them.
Good quality bag. Just the right size for carrying essentials. Brought it home. Very excited to mount and go for a ride. Totally disappointed to find that the F11 Fixer bracket is an awful fit for the narrow rails of my San Marco seat. You could force the bracket to attach, BUT I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT MANY OF THE COMPLAINTS OF BROKEN QUICK CLICK BRACKETS IS BC FOLKS ARE TRYING TO FORCE THIS BRACKET TO FIT THEIR NARROW SADDLE RAILS AND ONCE THEY TORQUE DOWN ON THE SCREWS THE PLASTIC CLIP IS DAMAGED. Really wish Topeak made a more prominent point of this sizing issue on the product packing. Better still, wish Topeak offered the bag in two Quick Click sizes. A previous reviewer said that there is a F22 Fixer Bracket that Topeak sells that provides a better fit for narrow rails. But what a BUMMER to have to spend more money and time before getting to use this product without breaking it!
The quick click mounting clip broke the 4th day I had the bag. It occured in the middle of a 10 day bike tour. The bag itself is nice, holds a lot of stuff and is expandable. Elastic straps on bottom will hold a micro pump securely and the tab on back is a nice mount for a rear flashing light during commutes. The bag is great the quick click clip is junk. Buy the strap version.
I ordered the small and fits alien 26 multitool, tube, credit card & ID, phone, and an energy bar. inside has a vertical seperator off to the right creating a 1 12" space. i put my tube in that space. it does come w the fixer attachment but it is made for standard seats w wide seat rail. i got the standard to barely fit my rails but definately did not fit right. i needed to purchase the topeak F22 fixer attachment for the narrower seat rails of my san marco seat. didnt even know they had that attachment until i visited the topeak website. this would probably be the reason why the fixers are breaking on some of the bikes,
