Description
Tifosi's Tyrant 2.0 Fototec Glasses deliver comfort and style with high-tech features.
To keep you protected in a wide range of conditions, this version of the Tyrant features Variable Tint Fototec(T-VP) technology. The result is a lens that has you covered from dawn to dusk while providing 100% protection against harmful UVA/UVB rays.
The frame is made of Grilamid TR-90, a homopolyamide nylon characterized by an extremely high alternative bending strength, low density, and high resistance to chemical and UV damage. Hydrophilic Adjustable Temples become tackier as you perspire, so the glasses stay put during hard efforts, and adjustable nose and ear pieces ensure an incredibly comfortable fit.
The Tifosi Tyrant 2.0 Fototec Sunglasses are available in various colors.
Size (Outside of frame/Outside of lens): 138/126mm

I already have a premium glasses w multiple lenses but I got tired of dealing w them mid ride. For the money these work as advertised. The lens clarity is adequate and the photochromatic feature works well. In full sunlight, I wish it was a bit more opaque but it's a minor negative.
The big plus for me is that I have a small face head and these fit me well. You can easily adjust the nose pad ( a bit too easily actually) and the you can also bend the temples to fine tune the wraparound.
Overall a great option for those looking for single pair of glasses for morning commute to evening ride home.
I've used Tifosi for years and they've worked great. However, this pair just doesn't get dark enough in the sun. Really thought the lens would change from a clear to a good dark shade like regular sunglasses. Not so!! They barley turn to any shade at all when exposed to sunlight.
With an option like this I cannot figure out why people spend extra for high end glasses. These are great and fit perfect for an average face. I tend to abuse all my bike stuff so I don't want to necessarily spend tons for glasses that will get thrown in a jersey pocket once it starts raining or fogged up and then I have to worry about the lenses getting scratched. After a month of use these have shown no signs of wear at all. Lenses are perfect and I will consider buying a backup pair.
While these re a great price and fit comfortably I have an issue with the lenses popping out whenever I clean them and the ability to get darker in direct sunlight (and I live and ride in Florida) is not that great. Since I use them for riding in the morning (before work) I appreciate the clarity of the lenses but wish that they would get dark in the direct sunlight.
I am a long time Tifosi wearer, with this purchase beings my third or forth set. The Tyrant 2.0's new adjustable nose bridge is a nice improvement over the previous versions that I have owned. I keep coming back to Tifosi because they have very good optics, at price that does not break the bank. Also, the Fototec lenses work well and are better then the interchangeable options out there. When I wear out this pair, I'll buy another pair just like them.
I got these to replace some Natives that I am heartily sick of. These Tifosi's fit my female face, and they wrap around well to keep wind out of my face. I have the lightest grey lenses, and I have ridden brevets all night long wearing them, they go almost clear. They get medium dark during the daytime, which is good for all but the sunniest, most glaring conditions. I'm very happy to not have to switch lenses anymore.
I replaced another pair of Tifosi glasses that had changeable lenses, I really liked those, but with the Fototec lenses, these can't be beat. Comfortable, light, breathable.
I use these for both driving and outdoor activities. They work well for cycling as you have good peripheral vision and no external frame around the edges and they sit high enough on your nose so that bugs and dirt don't creep in. I like the Fototec function. It works well. I am on my fourth pair due to loss or breakage. One pair I had didn't fit very well compared to the others so I took the lenses from that frame and put them into another identical frame when the lenses got scratched. And they are hard to scratch which is another reason I like them so much. Overall, they are a great product.
MTB riding 50 to 60 miles per week. Great fit, light weight and the lens transition is lighting fast. I ride in the mountains with lots and trees and open terrain and these are the best to date.
I use on sunny days in the fall-there is enough darkening along with eye protection. Great in Tunnels as on the Hiawatha Bike Route.
The lenses wrap well around my face so are effective to protect my eyes from the wind and glare. Frames are comfortable and incredibly light weight. Easy to forget I'm wearing them!
This is my 3rd or 4th pair of these glasses. They are the best cycling glasses I've tried. The only reason that I've gone through so many pairs is that I seem to have a talent for destroying them unintentionally.
