Fly (Up Hills) Like an Eagle
Ride anywhere with this wide range XG-1275, 10-50/52 tooth SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed cassette that always provides just the right gear.
Fast on the flats. Control on the climbs. SRAM's Eagle™ technology is engineered for infinite freedom with its flawless 1x drivetrain. Reviews
I use on a gen-3 (latest) Specialized Turbo Levo with AXS electric powered rear derailleur, and previously with a GX manual rear der on the same ebike. The 11 - 52 total range of gearing is excellent. Although the big ag from 2 to 1 (lowest) is not ideal. The shifting is normally clean and quick in every gear. A few times when shifting under load from 3 to 2 the chain had jumped off the cassette halting the climb. Backing off the pedaling power during this weak shift from 3 to 2 prevents the chain skip and jump out of all gears. Apparently the gearing is not optimized for clean and quick shifting under power. I read reviews of the newest SRAM Transmission drive-train which has better 2nd to 1st gearing rate, without a sudden gear rate difference compared to larger gear changes in rate of this older designed cassette. And the T-Type drive train is reviewed to be excellent when shifting under power.
If you are looking for very wide range cassette for a 1 by Groupon this is it. Super well made a and with the 10 to 52 range you can go down fast as well as up any hill.
I purchased this cassette to build a pair of road wheels for my gravel bike. After 30 years with Shimano, this was my first experience with a SRAM groupset. It took three tries to get rotors for the wheels that did not have a manufacturing defect ( either offset several millimeters or untrue out of the box) Similar problem with the cassette. The first one was defective and did not shift properly and had poor chain meshing. It was loud.
Working with BikeTiresDirect was great in assisting me with the multiple times needed to send parts back until I found some that worked. The next cassette they sent me did function properly.
In my experience, only 50% of the parts SRAM manufactured were usable. Not a bad percentage for a bike parts company. I just hope that SRAM does not supply parts for Boeing or NASA
I have 3 of these cassettes on my bikes now. One replaced an X01 cassette as there were none in stock. I know there is a weight difference but honestly, not enough to bother me and the savings did not hurt either. Pretty solid product - i struggle to see any significant wear on all three of them (remember to lube your chain often and chains are cheaper than cassettes to replace).
