Grippy Pedals That Won't Destroy Your Shins
The Race Face Ride pedals feature burly composite nylon, a slim, concave design, and built-in traction treads with molded traction pins for extra sure footing. Designed with future shredders and novice riders in mind, the Ride pedals sport a durable nylon composite body with 18 molded traction studs to provide solid footing while being kinder and gentler on your shins should you slip up.
The Cromoly steel axles are sealed to keep the gunk out, but they are completely serviceable for when you want to give them a quick tune-up.
If you are just getting into mountain biking or you're looking for budget-level pedal replacements, the Race Face Ride pedals are the perfect options.

Reviews
I have both the Race Face Chesters and these Ride pedals. Both pedals are excellent. The Chesters are used on a road bike that like to take for shorter rides (10-15 miles). I am mostly on that road bike the entire time. I use the Race Face Ride pedals on a hybrid bike that I use for errands, super quick rides and commuting. The platform on bth pedals is excellent. The Ride pedal DOES NOT have the metal pins which makes it more pleasant on rides that are short and where you need to get on and off your bike frequently. The metal pins can catch your legs every now and then and scratch your legs. The metal pins on the Chesters are great when you plan to be on your bike for awhile and do not anticipate getting on and off your bike frequently. I think MTBers just learn to live with the occasional scratches from the metal pins of the Chesters. Both pedals are great. Your feet will stick to the Chesters better and the Rides are better when you are on and off th bike frequently.
Great price to quality ratio.
Just enough grip.
No sharp metal spikes to threaten my shins.
I use them on my single speed commuter/trainer without fear of breakdown.
If needed (though not cost effective), replacement bearings are available.
This pedal might be sticky enough for riding around town, but it doesn't grab my RC Livewire bike shoes hard enough to work well on dirt trails. I'm replacing these with some metal pin pedals.
Got these for my partner's casual around-town bike and was pleasantly surprised with the build quality. Like the grippiness without going full spikes to save the shins, and extra points for a design that has a sizable contact area without being overly visually chonky.
