Reviews
Got two sets of these so my kids could ride their new bikes in the winter more often without getting their clothes all dirty. They're priced well, come with all the hardware options you're likely to need, are easy to install, and seem like they'll be a quick removal once our weather gets nicer. I docked one star because the MTB size option is a bit narrow for MTB tires. I had to double check the width to make sure I was sent the correct size because they looked so much narrower than other MTB specific fenders I've seen. Both bikes have 2.2 inch tires, and even at the widest point of the fenders they don't cover the entire tread. They seem to catch the majority of spray, though, so for the price I'm still happy with them.
They arent quite a one fender fits all applications but once on the bike, they do the job intended.
I liked the idea of an easily removable fender for my Aluminum Cross frame, a great price. As it turns out, the rear fender wouldnt clip on to my brake support. I had to hard mount it with the supplied bracket. The front fender came with a bolt that was too short to attach to the brake mount(at the fork). I had to pick up a new bolt at the hardware store to get it attached. Once attached, a little adjusting & you are off & running.
From viewing the pictures & the price paid, these fenders are about what yould expect. The serve their intended purpose. Id buy them again. Its always great to see products made from recycled materials!!!
I bought these to put on my daughter's Fairdale Weekender, but fitment wouldn't work with her frame. Not enough clearance to fit between the seat stays and rear tire, nor between the fork legs and front tire. These are probably better suited for use with a hybrid or converted mountain bike to a commuter.
I ended up putting them on one of my Kona Humus to make it my rain bike. Attachment points are lackluster at best. Portland Design Works normally offers up some great products, but this isn't one that I consider up to their level. I would have returned them, but they're so cheap it wouldn't have been worth it.
