Description

Make Short Work Of The Serious Gnar

The Maxxis Ardent 29 EXO/TR MTB Tire can handle just about anything. It's got the size to roll over the chunkiest trail furniture like it's not even there, the blocky side knobs to corner like it's on rails, and the ramped center knobs to roll like it's got somewhere to be. The rolling resistance is surprisingly low, but the stopping power is enough to come to a halt on a dime and bring back nine cents change.

The Ardent's also situated to run tubeless, so you can enjoy the grip that comes with lower pressures and not have to fuss with tubes. Its dual-compound rubber is perfectly balanced between sticky grip and hard-charging durability, and the EXO casing delivers an extra dose of durability, so big hits into sharp rocks are no big thing.

Features:

  • Maxxis' legendary do-it-all trail tire
  • High-volume casing for superior traction and damping
  • Large block side knobs offer cornering stability
  • Center tread offers braking and accelerating traction
  • Ramped knobs minimizes rolling resistance
  • EXO sidewall protection resists sidewall tears
  • Available in 29 x 2.25" or 29 x 2.4" width option
  • Available in Black or Dark Tanwall edition
  • 60 TPI
  • Weight: 800g (29 x 2.25")

Lots of grip!

This tire delivers on its promise of excellent cornering traction. Ive used it in dry and wet conditions and have been very pleased. I purchased the 29x2.4 as a front tire for a little extra volume under my 2019 SC Tallboy. I like it a lot! Its mounted to a rim thats 27mm internal width. It was easy to setup tubeless with a standard pump, but I did first set the bead with a inner tube. Then I pulled the tube out by breaking just one side of the bead. Easy breezy!

tough and good size for front

Running this on the front paired with a maxxis ikon out back. i like this combo. the front worked really well for dry rocky conditions. ran at 25psi for a xc marathon (i am am 160lbs). the good-spaced knobs worked well in sweeping sandy turns - never lost the front. I have had this out in some wet - did fine over wet rocks, but roots are always sketch. got caked in sticky mud. bike: canyon lux trail

Maxxis Ardent may be the best all round tire out there

Most people do not want to change wheels or tires every time conditions change or you go to a different trail. The Maxxis Ardent I feel is my number one all rounder with the Ikon being second if you want slightly better rolling but a little less traction in bad conditions. I like biketiresdirect as well and have been using them for years. Getting a discount and Appling some points reduces the pain of purchases.

Awesome long lasting and durable MTB tires

I've gone through a long list of MTB tires from very refutable manufacturers. There are a lot of good ones out there. But when it comes to fast rolling performance and grip on the flats and through the roots and rocks, durability, and long lasting tread I have settled on the Maxxis Ardent 29" EXO/TR tire. You can't go wrong with this tire!

I love Maxxis tires,

It was time for fresh tires on my Specialized Epic MTB, and I wanted to change up the look with these Maxxis gumwall tires, Ardent front, and Ikon rear, Great look on my bike, and most important, excellent riding tires for the terrain on our trails here

Light, fast and it provides dependable grip. I highly recommend it for cross country type use. I prefer to use it as a rear tire.

Bag 'em

Great tires. If i could only run 1 tire for the rest of my life, they would be these. The EXO sidewall protection is a must.
