The Lake MX238-X Wide Gravel Shoe offers gravel and mixed-terrain riders the comfort and performance of a road shoe with the walk-ability of a MTB shoe without the addition of excessive weight or bulk.
The MX238's Helcor abrasion-resistant leather is specifically designed to be extremely durable against rubbing, scrapes and scuffing. Clarino Microfiber (Beetle/Black or White/Black) or Ecco Fullgrain leather (Black) uppers are sleek, supple and form fitting, providing a glovelike feel that conforms to the shape of your foot over time. Hook lycra heel liner offers a firm grip for off-the-bike mobility.
Dual BOA closure system offers more security and adjustability than a single BOA. Two times as much to be exact.

I have had trouble with the widening of my forefoot. I can get into the Shimano gravel shoes that come in wide, but they are excessively long if you follow Shimano�s recommendations. These fit my feet much better. I went through the process described on their website, measuring my foot and it turned out to be accurate. The shoes are well-made. The only downside is there are a few grams heavier than my old Shimano gravel shoes
I needed a wide shoe and the footbed is actually wider on Lake's wide offerings as opposed to just adding more upper material like most other brands. These shoes are very comfortabke and stiff. Dislikes: The boas stick when it is dusty and you have to work to get them open to take off the shoes. The Lake footbed inserts are worthless, I expected better for the price point. My Specialized footbeds were not as wide as the shoes in the toebox area so my foot hung over on the outside and hurt my foot. I had and older pair of the same inserts so I trimmed off a piece and used duct tape to attach the extra bit so the insert matched the the cheap Lake inser's shape. Works like a charm.
I am a big fan of leather shoes. These suede shoes are broke in comfortable, ready to go. They don't get too hot, great vents to help cool feet. I bought the wide model and they are perfect. I'm glad I bought these.
