Reviews
I've worn this helmet for over 2 years, road and gravel. The fit is comfortable and light. I really like the straps and buckle, they feel higher end and comfortable. I would continue using this helmet with the exception of two things. 1. Mushroom head... A distinct mushroom shape when on my head. I didn't think much of it until I started doing more events and saw pictures of myself next to other riders in other helmets. Notice how they don't advertise with a person wearing it? Now I can't unsee it. 2. The pointed peak at the front can interfere with some sunglasses and may leave odd tan/sunburn lines if there is a gap between helmet and shades... something I didn't think about until the morning after a long, hot weather, sunny ride when getting ready for work. These aesthetics may not bother you... just wanted to provide honest feedback.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this helmet! Been a cyclist for 50 years and this is by far the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. I bought the orange helmet and now can be seen from far away. I ride with a group of 16 others and now FOUR of us have this helmet!
The fit of these helmets is awesome! I've been a cyclist for 40 plus years and this is no doubt the most comfortable helmet I've ever owned.
My husband and I both have the orange. We both are pleased with how visible we are. (I was hit by a car in 2008 and am now an aboe knee amputee, so safety is quite important to us.)
After years of nothing other than Giro helmets, I decided to try something new. I couldn't be more pleased. The fit is perfect and the lightness is noticeable. The comfort is super If you use glasses with long side grips, they may hit the plastic retainer in back so adjust accordingly. I am really pleased with this purchase.
I had a very old Kask Mojito in the gray and turqouise color scheme. Maybe from 2015? I loved it becasue it fit me so well. I think it might fit people who have more of a round head. I went through 3 sets of pads on it. I also think the ventilation was pretty good. It ended up being the only helmet I wore even though I have a couple of others.
I say I "had" one because I recently had an accident in which my much loved Mojito SAVED me from serious head injury. The rest of me is not intact, lol, but I only walked away with a little lump on my head. It was not a MIPS rated helmet. IT JUST FIT WELL.
So it was a no-brainer that I would buy another Mojito. It fits just as good as my old one. It might even be a little more adjustable. I went with the orange and to be sure it is bright. It is traffic cone orange. I start rides before sunrise so I am good with that. BTD is now selling the replacements pads for the Mojito so that's good, too.
Kask Mojito Cubed Helmet (Large 59-62cm) was purchased for road riding. I selected the HiViz Orange Fluo color for visibility in traffic. Helmet is high quality constructed product MADE IN ITALY. Great air ventilation and good solid protection padding (CPSC safety standard) weighing in at 290g (10.2 oz). Efficient 2-way helmet adjustment lateral and vertical for snug secure fit. Chin strap is a comfortable leather with a unique Kask securing clasp. Unfortunately, the vibrant HiViz color has already begun fading after 5 weeks of daily training rides, otherwise I would have easily given 5-star review. Overall, I am very pleased with purchase.
I like the thick padding, The Chinstrap, and the Shape. It fits well and the retention system is a Kask exclusive. Kask has their own answer to MIPS. Weight is important to me, and this helmet is lite for it's price in this category.
Light, comfortable and great air flow, all these describe the Kask mojito cubed helmet. If there is one limitation it has to do with affixing a mirror. The helmet has narrow solid portion which are also curved thereby limiting the use of mirrors which use double sided tape to mount to the helmet. I'm awaiting a custom built (sorry only made for members of the family) mirror which doesn't use tape.
I love this helmet. It is an example of meticulous craftsmanship with its leather strap and wonderful quality and design. It looks very sharp. I paid full price and don't regret it; it would be an amazing deal at any level of discount.
Very nice helmet. Comfortable. Easy to adjust. Bright, visible colors. Venting is good. Not as light as the other more expensive Kask helmets, but I only noticed the marginal weight increase when holding the Kask Protone in my other hand.
I wish it had MIPS.
Have only worn this helmet since late fall. It is not as heavy as my Synthe (by only a few grams), has good airflow. Fits VERY well on my melon. Does not have MIPS. I don't plan on crash testing.
Ordered the orange color and love how bright it is. Fit is very comfortable, feels secure with or without chin strap and I think looks good on my head.
A few other notes:
Some have said the pointed front can be odd, which, it can but it doesnt bother me.
I do have to put my sunglasses on under straps for them to stay. Otherwise the fit to too close to my ears for glasses to sit outside straps and on ears. Again - doesnt bother me or change function of helmet.
