Fizik's Legendary Performance Road Shoe In A Wide Fit
Properly dimensioned for riders seeking a higher volume fit, fizik's Vento Infinito Carbon 2 Wide Road Shoe is the latest refinement of fizik's legendary performance road racing cycling shoe, developed with and chosen by leading athletes throughout the pro peloton.
The Microtex upper is supple, yet strong and stable, for a comfortable and consistent fit. Combined with fizik's most advanced adjustment capabilities, this shoe delivers the precise, locked- in feel that racers demand.
A dedicated piece of the shoe's upper wraps around the plantar arch and can be precisely adjusted for a perfect fit and improved support of the plantar fascia using the latest Li2 BOA platform. The volume of the forefoot area can be controlled via the Infinito, a signature fit-configuration feature. The Infinito balances tension and further eliminates pressure hot spots by using BOA textile lace guides. This fit system acts across a larger area of the shoe's upper, pulling the eyelets inwards consistently from all directions for a more supportive and comfortable fit.
The updated Infinito also features an entirely new outsole with an engineered carbon fiber layup that saves weight and delivers increased stiffness. With a stiffness index rating of 10, this outsole is the stiffest in the fizik range. A wide vent inlet and deep internal channeling provide a cooling airflow, aiding in temperature regulation. The cleat positioning is set slightly further back compared to traditional settings to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression, especially well-suited to very aggressive, forward aero positions.

Reviews
I have been riding for over 20 years and dealing with foot neuroma pain for the past 15 or so. For many years I did well with the shimano r 320 46 wide, but as they aged I came in need of new shoes. I have tried on and returned so many shoes over the years, multiple lakes, s-phyres, rapha and couldnt get the right feel until the fiziks. They are awesome for me! I did size down to a 45 and they are perfect. I did a 3 hour ride the day after I got them and all was well. Short story long, they are awesome! Their cleat position also allows for rearward placement, better than others I have tried, so that is a big reason they fit me well and take pressure off the neuroma area. Good luck!
As with so many cycling shoes today the uppers are inflexible and uncomfortable. Otherwise they are very fine shoes that are designed for wider feet. And the fit adjustment is quite precise. I only wish that all of the shoe manufacturers would also make shoes with uppers that have a lot more flexibility. I've been trying to find comfortable shoes for years. And I'm getting tired of trying to find some. I have some 20 some year old Louis Garneau Ergo Air Comp shoes that are almost comfortable. But they are starting to wear out. So I've been looking for something to replace them for several years now. I've tried several different brands. I often do Google searches for comfortable road shoes. Reviewers always comment about how comfortable they are. None of them have been. And my feet are paying the price. I think I will probably wear the LG's out before I will find anything that I'm satisfied with.
For the longest time I wore gravel shoes on my road bike because I was unable to find road shoes that were comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Finally, I found Fizik's Vento carbon shoes and they've been amazing. They are lightweight, have very stiff soles and fit my wide feet incredibly well. The dual boa system is extremely easy to adjust and comfortably tightens the shoe without over compressing in some areas.
The one thing I noticed when I first started riding with these is that the edge of the under flap / tongue is a little stiff and can dig a bit into my foot. However, my shoe fitter suggested that I move my cleats back so I'm not flexing my ankle so much. After a few weeks I've adjusted to a better technique with my ankle and foot and there isn't any more pressure at the top of the ankle. I've also seen that the flap material has broken in and it's softer now as well.
