Reviews
My wife and I thought it was funny that when the 155mm saddle arrived it said it was a women's saddle, because I am not a woman. But I have had some serious issues with numbness, saddle sores, and debilitating pain with regular saddles. For reference, I have used the Fizik Arione, Concors Lite, Selle Italia carbon/titanium Flite, and in-house Bianchi and Trek saddles and every single one hurt after 30 miles. The Arione was probably the worst, it felt like I was sitting on a citrus juicer and made longer rides impossible. So the Line S Elite Flat saddle solves these problems in a few ways. First, I went with the 155mm because obviously the 135s were too narrow and I had zero support on my sit bones. It was like sitting on an iron pipe. For 20 years I've been uncomfortable on my bike and I just thought that was how it was supposed to be. You just think on that a minute. Anyway, enough was enough. I roughly figured my sit-bone width using the cardboard indentation method and then sized up to the 155. I will not lie to you, my first several rides were wild. Instead of having the seat wedged up between my legs, I was actually sitting on top of the saddle and - lo and behold - for the first time ever I discovered where my sit bones actually are. Because the saddle is flat, riding took some adjustment as you don't feel "locked" into the saddle - also, because you're sitting on top of the saddle, the seat tube has to be lowered. It definitely takes several rides to get used to the new feeling and the soreness from sitting on your actual sit bones. But once you're used to it, the numbness and pain are no more. The stubby nose and channel are also really nice and totally different from what I'm used to, the best way to explain it is I feel like I have better maneuverability in turns and much less pressure on the soft tissue. Because of the, uh, interesting profile, setting the proper seat angle and setback took a lot of effort. You really have to do it by feel rather than measuring and leveling. I have no numbness and no pain after 3.5 hours in the saddle, and I don't feel like cutting my rides short anymore. Glad I went with a completely different product than I have used in the past. If you are a male and have child-bearing proportions, this saddle is pretty awesome and very affordable. I love it.
Got this in the beginning of October, 2020. I ride between 2 to 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. This is the saddle for me!! Over the last several years I've tried SMP, ISM, Specialized, etc and this is by far my favorite. I think it's cool looking, but my brother says it looks weird, to each his own.
